  1. Buzzing to be in the Strawberry Corner tonight
  2. My first ever semi-final. Howay the lads. (My dad went into the club about ten years ago and they were very helpful, gave him the file of this and another photo they took of the two of us that wasn't used)
  3. I was up in the bouncy castle for the Tottenham one too. It's actually Ruud Gullit! being chanted over and over to a clap that most sticks in my head. Was amazing. If anyone has the 1998/99 NUFC official screenscaver that came with an official mousemat, you'll see a picture of me appear from the previous year v SheffU.
  4. This is where I fundamentally disagree. Yes it is. And therefore any 'sensible' decision has to take emotions into account, because this is football. It's nothing like deciding where to build a new Tesco's etc. from a business point of view. You may not feel much emotional attachment to the stadium itself, that's fine, I understand your reasoning, but the fact is many do, and that's valid and should be an important part of the calculation. I'm definitely emotionally attached, and I think probably overall I'd support a move on balance - not because I'd removed emotions from the equation though. tl;dr emotions have to be part of any sensible decision, because this is about football and football's largely about emotions.
  5. Football is all about emotions though, they're a valid factor - it's sensible to take emotions into account.
  6. Christ, that feels ages away.
  7. I mean the text, says I need to sign in - and I'm not signing up for The Telegraph.
  8. Can someone post the article please
  9. If we're moving I'm a big fan of that footprint, as close as possible to original site. Obviously wondering what that means for attendance during construction.
  10. What's the tl;dr of why you loved the Spurs stadium? Not being an arse, just asking. Went for the away game and my take aways were - big ring of corporate around 3/4 of the ground was grim, lacked character, view from 10th row was substantially worse than would be from equivalent of SJP. Caveat that didn't go to bar. Atmosphere was also proper shit - but don't think can pin that on stadium much.
  11. Nar the 99 blue one was pretty crap. Yellow numbers were a fun novelty though. Also I got Batty on it, then he left.
  12. Separately bought the 95-97 reissue. The material feels distinctly different to what I remember, and the stitched badge I'd spot as being different straight away (cos it's better really). Close enough for me though, I'm happy. Wanted to try it on first, got an S just like I always do though. Think the sleeves are bigger but otherwise fit is pretty standard.
  13. Don't explain, just go to the counter and ask some young lad for a Premier League umlaut.
  14. Can you not buy an umlaut at the club shop or JD to add now? Please ask.
  15. My blow-softener is not having to fork out silly money to get into the final.
  16. Whatever measures are used tend to be unadvertised. E.g. nobody knew for a fact two years ago that going to Bournemouth home or Tranmere away in the cup was a way to increase your chance of a final ticket. I assume if and when STs open up they will use something, and that something won't have been previously stated. Even if they use ANY previous membership (plus and regular) that will have been unadvertised. Not saying it's fair, and I doubt plus membership *will* be used for ST or cup finals, but I thought it was worth paying the tenner just in case.
  17. I doubt Mags plus gets cup final ticket benefits. (Selfishly I hope it does, cos I am one. I paid the tenner from the start just in case there was something, was more thinking about STs - never thought likely though )
  18. He was helping Tino out from the touchline yesterday in the first half, as he's done many times. Don't see evidence he's checked out at all.
  19. I prefer to be closer to the pitch but don’t think it feels that much different to being high up in other big grounds. In terms of view of the game it’s better than lowdown , but I like to feel close to the players. As far as atmosphere, as said, was actually one of the better ones I’ve experienced - cos of the standing
  20. Heard a smattering of boos, though couldn't identify any locally. I shouted for people to fuck off booing.
  21. Fucking hell Quite aware cheers. Believe it or not I was there during half time and before the match too where I wasn't analysing the warm-up. I noticed the view. I could see the match just fine from Level 7 too, a lot better than at Spurs' new stadium. This is a thread about the stadium, and sometimes I notice things about the stadium. You shouldn't even be noticing you had a better view of the city, your eyes should be firmly fixed on the pitch like a proper fan. Besides, it was a lot less souless for me up there in L7 than it has been in any of my games in the lower Leazes.
  22. That's a lovely Villa result like. As negative as I feel, lots of our rivals are also inconsistent. Losing hope of catching Forest but 5th, and especially 6th v much on.
  23. He stared a fan out today that was giving him shit. Second half when a ball was played to him that he couldn't get near to with ball guarded by one of their big lads. Clearly some fans thought he didn't try hard enough. As he was running back up pitch he kept his head turned - staring, possibly mouthing something too. I wasn't only one to notice.
  24. Was in the returned away seats today and, fuck me, it's such a striking view. Never seen anything like it in all the other grounds I've been to. Not passing judgement on what's actually best, but think a Gallowgate expansion with the East as it is would *look* class - still view of the city, big imposing stadium.
