10 years since Eddie beat us and got McClaren sacked so Rafa could come in, get some soul back and ultimately hire Eddie, win a cup and get in the CL. edit: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35675885 - Eddie interview here, strange to see

[LCF] Newcastle United 2-1 Liverpool - NUFC LEAGUE CUP WINNERS

Nights like Barca this week I sometimes end up torturing myself imagining if they’d got a second in stoppage time. Just imagine how would we have been able to go on? -

Even before kick off it felt different to the 2023 one. The feeling when we were ahead was so strange and unfamilliar. But I couldn't let myself truely believe til the second went in. The fact it was so soon after the disallowed one made it really feel like we'll do enough (disallowed? no bother, here's another). -
👀 dare we?
-
Wow we’ve never had Liverpool like this at Anfield, they look proper shit
-
Aye. They're just trying to reduce risk even if they can't eliminate it, doesn't have to be all or nothing! Yes there's prob some risk to those on the bench but it's lower and it's a more difficult problem to solve. In an enclosed changing room - higher risk and easy to solve.

Chelsea 0-1 Newcastle United (14/03/26) | post-match huddle pg. 30

It'll be unbearable if he turns out good, really hope he fails. -
I missed all this about him supposedly not wanting to play. Why would anyone even think that - even his critics would say he’d want to play in a CL match v Barcelona.
-
Id be quite happy with 7th. As well as it being Europa (probably) it’s quite a respectable position with how congested it is these days and it matches our 2023/24 finish.
-
Can't count the amount of times I've tried to sack off thinking about this then coming back to it
-
Last season was Fulham with 45 points. Year before that was Chelsea with 43, and before that Brentford with 43.
-
They have three of the top 6 (prob top 5 as of tomorrow) away, so not that easy.
-
As of tomorrow, if results go against us (which is likely), we’ll be 9 off CL, 5 off Europa and 1 off Conference League. We only have one game left against teams above us. We’ll see. Conf v doable, Europa possible with good run, CL not impossible but would take immense run and some luck. (*if 7th goes to Europa)
-
It’s more likely Liverpool we’d have to catch though I think.

The fear of VAR when you're listening on the radio and you've no idea what's happened. -

England's well ahead and there are two spots. It's possible but unlikely. https://kassiesa.net/uefa/data/method5/ccoef2026.html -

Someone who only had time for a steak bake before the match and is going to be hungry during the second half. -
I don’t like being able to see the screen, I don’t want to see any replays til I watch the highlights later at home - part of the fun. I like having the timers too, all I want. The screen is pointless for VAR too, you can always tell from the ref before the screen.

At HT on Tuesday against my better judgement I asked for a chicken balti pie because there wasn't much of a queue. I had my phone up ready to pay and so it went straight through. First problem he charged me for 2, not 1 - second there were none left. So he went to refund me - the refund screen looked suspiciously similar to the charging screen but he insisted it was definitely a refund. Then I said, alright I'll have a mince pie - got charged for a single pie. Turns out the 'refund' was in fact a second charge. So I've been charged for FIVE PIES, when I asked for and received one. £29 Obviously I'll be chasing up. (The pie was absolutely scalding when I got it - regretted it). -
Don't think it is like, it has Newcastle as its post town for post. Pretty sure it's Northumberland. Enjoying mackems raging about it though - it's just outside Newcastle.

My guess would be the vast majority of tourists buy them off resellers and are not members themselves - I think the inflated members will be the touts. Sites like LiveFootballTickets are well known by the sorts of people that would buy a ticket.
-
A visiting American friend bought me a ticket for PSV off one of those sites cos she wanted us to sit together. I snitched after and sent a screenshot of the ticket to the club. Doubt anything will happen. tbh maybe I could be okay with a small handful of tickets being distributed to ‘tourists’. It’s nice to see people fall in love with the region and want to see a game at SJP, or a bunch of German lads come to see Big Nick etc (while they could…). And I’ve done the same elsewhere. Maybe formalize it somehow and keep it low, maybe restrict which games (eg not derby). I don’t know how it could actually work like - thinking as I type.
