  1. Absolutely nothing. We've let 2 central defenders go on free transfers, and we don't have a central defender at the club over the age of 21 (apart from Ramage but he doesn't count). Allardyce said when he came that he needs to sign probably 4 or 5 players, plus replace the ones who left. Ben Haim for free and Ronzenhal for a few million would be good business. I assumed we'd want to keep taylor starting though, and let him develop into a good player. And i wouldnt have though ben haim or this guy would come to be on the bench. So ben haim and rozenhal starting with taylor on the bench?
  2. So what does this mean for ben haim?
  3. You are blind...Sorry mate... Emre has talent and can create something out of nothing...He didn't have a consistent last season but that's due to many reasons, one of them having Roeder, long spells on the treatment bench and the racisim accusation against him...Under Sam Allardyce I am hoping that things will improve with less injuries and players wanting to play for a manager who knows what he wants from his players...I think we should give Emre the chance to shine because deep inside there is a lot of talent there than can unlock enemy defences... Blind? Realistic. Of course he has talent, but he's been very inconsistent both seasons, not just last year. He's injury prone, and quite often in a game you can pin-point the moment when he thinks "I can't be arsed with this"
  4. I don't know why people are bothering to think of a future with emre. He's one of our most inconsistent players weve got (in both seasons, unlike parker) and i think he's one who we definitely should and most likely will, get rid of

  6. I honestly would have been dissipointed if we lost parker to west ham and barton went there too. Of course i would have said that if he'd gone to boro though.
  7. Barton knows he has to behave otherwise it's very unlikely he'll get another good move. Allardyce obiously believes he can tame him, so we've probably got a superior to parker plus money.
  8. Good if he'll do well, but i don't like this speculaiton over sam already. We've finally got a good manager, who's just starting to work the transfer market and build a good team right through, and his future's in doubt before he's managed a game.

  10. Honestly, I can't see that happening. You may feel that way, and I agree with you, but there are many people who don't. I get the feeling if he does go to West Ham, and he plays at SJP next season, he'll likely get jeered with a few boos thrown in. And knowing our luck, he'll play a blinder in the process. I agree. I reckon he'll get booed, but i would clap. I dont really think booing is a good gauge of their success at the club as some players will inevitably get booed, or often it's the circumstances. Martins has done well, but if he left this summer he'd get a good booing. Bowyer was playing really well just before he left, but you also knew he'd be getting booed next season - because he's bowyer.
  11. these skysports.com agent leaks always seem to be a load of rubbish
  12. Parker out and Barton, Viduka, Baines, Ben haim and maybe Boatang in for a net £3-5million is great i think. I wouldnt know what do with £40million if we got that as well? A £40million right back?
  13. I think Barton's certainly the most talented
  14. I'd like parker to stay, and play the defensive role, but i think for £8.5mil, and if sam's planning on barton, you have to take it. If it's lower, perhaps it rises to £8.5mil based on england caps or something?
  15. Quicker the better imo. News like this will only mean the fans will side with the new guy, obviously (and why the story is appearing before the board meeting next week) Yeah but didn't Allardyce say that fans need to be patient about what he does. yes but when he was saying that he obviously was planning for little steps due to the massive job and the massive ammount of money to do it in a short spell of time now with rich backing you would expect it to happen quicker, remember before the chelsea take over they were as much mid table as we are now. Bollicks! They were 4th in the league! catch up will you grant retracted what i said and explained further down the thread......... I know, i'm sorry. I realise more will be expected of big sam now, but i still dont want him to be too rushed. We still want him to build a team and club that's good right through, not just bring in a load of stars. And that may mean top 6 for a couple of years. Youve got to remember manu, chelsea and liverpool are all loaded too (the latter 2 moreso than us) then youve also got spurs and villa wanting to break.

  17. Aye and there seems to be the attitude now that people are worthless past 30. Shearer was 32 or something when he was a goal off the golden boot.
  18. I would love Gud, i wanted him last summer. And he's only 28. I thought he was in his 30s
  19. You know, i can rememer very little about Big Dunc's time with us (other than him allegedly kicking Gullits door in after being partly blamed for the Sunderland defeat ), let alone his debut!! I do remember his corker against Man Utd though, where it bounced about 25 yards out, and he just swung a boot at it, and it flew past Bosnich. I lovedbig dunc. So passionate. Loved when he do a fist and bear his teeth http://www.abc.net.au/football/galleries/2004-05/epl20041205/images/09_duncan.jpg http://www.nufc.com/images/strip1-s.jpg
  20. Southampton 0-3 Newcastle FA cup 3rd round 2003/04... if you just got that from Getty though (since you've directly linked it), it probably said so in the description I got it from quoting someone else cheers

  22. Emre's going man. Or i hope so at least.
  23. I would agree with Butt if he's playing. Secondly nobby, but again, he may not be a starter Emre would be one of the last on the list for me. In fact, i'd rather have no captain. He simply decides he cant be arsed often when things arent going well. I heard bolton won't do us for compensation if we keep off their players. I think they'd make it v difficult for us to knick any one
