I probably agree with the original poster. Though i think it's a bit extreme, and there's no reason why we have to take a big dive. Don't get too mad if we finish like 12th, but i think any even half decent team can be looking at like 8th. The frustrating thing is letting gems like owen go, who we did so well to get. I think the best would be to tell them the plan, they stay for a year or 2, and if they think we'll succeed in our goal, they may stay.

That's what was pathetic about the shepherd out protests. What was the point if you only do it one week, after a bad defeat, then stop when we're winning. Just looks like an idiotic kneejerk reaction. If youre going to do it, do it after every game. Win or lose.

I like him. He links up really well and i certainly dont think he can picked out as one of the worse players He's only starting cos we're down to the bare bones upfront - he's essentially a squad player. Yes, he has been dreadful recently, exactly the same as just about every other player.

Taylor hasn't got pace? I'd say that's one of his strengths. Did you see him tear back when az were through? I think he has a lot of raw talent, but needs some coaching, as his positional play is often poor.

Were you saying that about bobby in his first 2 seasons? A couple of points that would counter your argument: - We're 11th in the league, six points of 6th, in no danger of relegation, and for the most part of this season we've had between 10 and 16 first team players injured. - His signings have been good. Martins = Class, Duff = Underperforming but still good, Sibi = Decent back up, Gooch = First few games have been very good considering he's come into a far superior league. Bernard = Fair enough. - You could also argue that our squad would never have been good enough to get near the UEFA places anyway, and it's our expectations that are marginally too high. Fave toon games ive been to would be the 3 wins at the Stadium of Light Leeds (a) 2001/02 4-3 that put us top of the league when solano scored in the last minte Derby,(a) 2001/02 also. 2-0 down with 20mins to go and won 3-2 in stoppage time, lualua's first. PSV (a) 1-1 My first euro away game. Came back from 1-0 down, great atmosphere, great result. Heerenveen (a) 2-1. Forgettable for most, but again it was a eurpean away game, i was in the front row by the goal where shearer and bowyer scored. Liverpool (a) 2002/03 2-2 2-0 down with 10 mins to go then robert and bellamy came on and changed the game. Speed pulled one back and shearer equalised in stoppage time I wish i went to Feyernord of course, and any other CL away game (just started going away in europe 1 year later). Also Arsenal away 3-1 and Manu 5-0. At the time of 5-0 i was going to a fair few games, but was only 7 and sharing a ticket with another kid. This was a game i didnt get.

How i'd love for hammergirl to return. All the west ham fans were so sure roeder would screw us and pardew would be their hero. Today Pardew relegated them at another club after being sacked!

Owen's a proffessional and knows he owes us. He would have at least one good season here. Also people forget he's just getting his kids settled, there are factors outside football.

Obviously doesn't know the rules then. Has to finish just after the automatic spots to get into Intertoto, can't just say "Oh we're going in there' You mean like when we qualified for it from 14th place? Goddd i say this every time. The team who qualifies for the Intertoto, are the team who finishes highest of all those who apply. Last year, whoever got 7th was going to take it and i expect it to be the same this year. It's far more attractive now than when we got in as 14th. It's a different competition.

People seem to get worried "oh no we're going to be midtable", demanding instant success. People must remember bobby came11th 2 years before getting us up there.

I dont believe the people shouting Souness Out at the beginning were right and others were wrong. They couldn't judge him on that period of time, and the fact he failed was incidental. The people who were right, were those that gave him a chance, didnt turn on him on our first run of bad form, gave him a significant amount of time, then turned.
