That was decent from Obertan.
-
Yeah, thought Gosling looked decent against Fener too.
-
Bigi's passing looks nice.
-
Pards "great ball". Love being able to hear the shouts
-
Don't wanna jump on Obertan early, but he really does give the ball away so cheaply.

Wouldn't be surprised if Lille are playing hard ball since we kinda pulled their pants down with Cabaye
-
That's horrible even for a Sunday league kit...

No, he'll in theory be loaned to a football league club, serve his ban with them because they will play more league games in a shorter time period, then return to QPR once his 12 league game ban has expired, even though QPR won't have played 12 league games. Technicality if it works...

It's the other way round in my opinion as Ba's scored around 1 in 2 wherever he has gone. He's a class player and I thought his all round play while out of position were all very good in the 2nd half of the season, he just couldn't seem to find the back of the net. Spot on, purple patch I'm sure I'm wrong, and obviously hope I'm wrong. As I said, his career to date suggests otherwise, it's just a niggling feeling I have as he went from absolutely outstanding to pretty poor towards the end of the season. I don't particularly think his all round play whilst out of position was that great either. He was fairly decent when he first moved out wide, but he got progressively worse as the games went on IMO. Was making incorrect/strange decisions, and was the one going forward that slowed our attacks down if anything. He looked like he was thinking too much. Probably needed a rest, which is why we could do with another quality striker. He'll prove me wrong within a week of the new season

His form dipped, but I wouldn't say I'm 'concerned' about it. Look at when he first joined, we thought we'd got ourselves a duffer and he was never going to cut it. Several amazing goals later he's the talk of the town. If he doesn't want to leave for money, I'm sure he'll stay and work through his bad patch. I really hope he does, of course. It's just a niggling thought I can't shake.

Not by any stretch am I saying we should be selling him, but I am slightly concerned about his form at the back end of last season. I'm hoping he can pick it up again, but there's this slight niggling worry that his early season form may have been a purple patch (although his career to date suggests otherwise). He may have been due a rest but his touch, passing, movement, and finishing all looked laboured, and he seems to make strange decisions, like shooting from nowhere when he has options ahead of him for the pass (did it against Fener as well). Possibly thinking too much and just needed a goal, but it's a worry for me. Hopefully first game of the season he'll put that thought to bed.

 Glad it wasn't just me. I like how all the people commenting have been here about as long as I have as well.

I know Dan Gleebals has been a member of this forum a fair while.... but I've only just twigged on his name
-
One thing I did like him yesterday was that he looked for the short pass whenever he could rather than lumping the ball up field. Hopefully he was instructed to do so and we see it from Krul too.

Obertan really is shite
-
So Roberto Carlos scored that goal against England now???
-
Well it's only one game, but yeah, hoping he starts to push on soon. He had a decent preseason last year iirc.
-
That cross for Gosling was outrageous.
-
I love how assured Tiote's passing is, so crisp.
-
Don't think you'll find anyone disagreeing with that...
-
I'm sure it will happen again next season when he starts a couple of games and has one of his shite games.

I actually really like Shola in last reasons role of 20/30 minute beast who despite being the slowest moving footballer ever seen his 4 minute stepover still beats his man every time. Plus if we win a penalty while he is on the pitch we may as well just let the opposition kick off without the shame of letting their keeper inevitably fail to keep the Shola off the scoresheet. You can tell he is the Godfather around Newcastle. Yeah I agree with this too. He was pretty useful coming off the bench last season especially when we were killing the game off. He is a fairly talented player, he's just not had a career that's reflected that.

Aside from the fact that Shola is a pretty shite footballer, he's the fucking man, you can't not like him anymore
