  1. honest question but which games do you think we needed that option in? The ones we didn't win
  2. I think he's easily worth £10m - significantly more if he can re-find his form, but just think £16m for us is a very high risk for an off-form player. Opinion based purely on player ability and not whether he would fit into our system etc...
  3. Does seem high. I'd be happy around £10m-£12m but not that much, £16m is an expensive risk.

Just jumped through this thread up until the day we got relegated, not nice reading. I had us at a 7 right back in the November, but looking back at all the shit that went on that year, it seems almost inevitable we were going to go down.
  6. Can't we just send Simpson their way
  7. I was gutted for a fair while after Carroll left, even for £35m. Obviously looking back now, we did alright out of it But there was no guarantee of that at the time. If he'd carried on for Liverpool as he did for us, it would have been painful.
  8. I get the feeling he'd pick up where he left off if we signed him back. Would take him for around £10m, but agree it would be a risk. I'd be happy if we took him back.
  9. I don't think any of them have been bought as first team improvements.
  10. Amalfitano. Ah yeah. Good isn't through the door yet though is he?
  11. Ok I'm being thick here, who else have we signed?

    Fraser Forster

My mate's a Charlton fan and thought Elliott was a good 'keeper. Although, this is the opinion of someone that rates Ameobi... I think a couple of people who live round my way used to go out on the piss with Elliott, apparently he loves a drink.

The third comment got me: "For fucksake man"
  14. Aye, throw in a central midfielder and no outgoings and it'd be a wonderful summer. Diarra then? Anita innit
  15. If we get this guy and don't actually sell Ba, the options at our disposal would be potentially Not that I've seen De Jong play...
  16. According to (ahem) Wiki, their full name is "Football Club Internazionale Milano S.p.A."
  17. Yeah, think I agree with this too tbh.

Yep, had that all game too. Whenever Italy wasted another chance, they were sticking the wanker signs at the TV

Yeah, you've gotta be an idiot not to expect colourful language, this guy was just shouting it all game at the top of his voice. There was also some freak at the back as well that waited until the place went silent after Diamante scored the last penalty to shout in what sounded like his best slipknot voice "YOU CUUUUUNTSS, YOU CUUUUUNNNTS, IM ENGLAND TILL I DIE, YOU CUUUUUNTS" It didn't even make any sense, I think he must have been bipolar

    Football pet hates

Definitely has its annoyances, but I don't mind this one. I don't live in Newcastle, and live in an area where there isn't a majority when it comes to supporting a team (the nearest "good" team to us is Gillingham), so I think it's quite nice being in an environment where everyone is supporting the same team. It may be a bit superficial with all the tournament fans coming out of the woodwork, but the only other time I get to experience it is at SJP, which I've been to twice... What is a pet hate though is tossers that can't control themselves whilst watching. Some fucker threw a pint (plastic) at the screen during the game, and there was the cliche idiot shouting the word "cunt" at the top of his voice all game thinking he was Alex Ferguson Alan Pardew. And that's exclusive of the occasional racist comments being thrown in that I'm not even going to start on.
  21. I'm sure this has probably been mentioned somewhere in the 565 pages preceding this, but in terms of transfer fee's paid, we must surely be up there with the most expensive teams in the tournament, if not the most expensive. Quite staggering given the apparent gulf in class between ourselves and the Spains/Germany's the world.
