Right now he's already the best English RB in the country, but that's not praising his quality so much more the lack of rivals. What happened to Micah Richards? They are both very similar TBH, i reckon Richards will eventually become a centre half again. Richards has far more potential in the tank but going through a tough spell, not really living up to the hype, but reckon he'll come back strong in a season or two. Glenn Johnson has pretty much followed that exact path.

The Liverpool team Torres is playing in is a million years ahead of the one Owen played for. They still had a bloody good team when Owen was there, service was hardly in short supply. IIRC they still managed to win the FA, League and UEFA Cup in one season back then.

I don't think Owen has ever been nearly as complete a striker as Torres is.

Who the better player between O'Shea and Bassong is, is open to debate but there is no way Bassong is nowhere near as good as O'Shea.

Get your head out of the clouds. He only joined the club for money in the first place, so yes, he is on over 60k a week. And if other club comes in with the same offer he'll be out the door quicker than he's ever ran this season. It's sad how people can be convinced by a few empty statements. Talk is cheap. Unless a team is challenging for the league, then why does any player go anywhere? It's not just the money that influences their decision, but Martins' decision to join us would have been based on the same principles had he signed for someone else. At the time of him signing, he may well have thought there was a chance we could have won some silverware, but it hasn't worked out like that. Regardless of what has happened club wise though, he does seem to like the area and is settled, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that he would like to stay.
