  1. I hope he does well for them, he'll have a decent team around him with stability so he should do better than he did for us.
  2. The Sheff Wed and Feyenoord games amongst many others. The Arsenal game stands out as well.
  3. Sad to see him go tbh. Hope he does well over there since Wolfsburg have no impact on us. He's shown some moments of brilliance in an ultimately shite period for us, I for one won't be saying good riddance etc.
  4. Someone has copied that off my old man: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,60874.msg1742625.html#msg1742625
  5. and who did you want to follow? Can't remember, dunno what you're talking about
  6. The father followed Keegan for some reason, which developed into support for the club, and I naturally followed suit. I can honestly remember some of my mates calling me a glory supporter for supporting Newcastle because I weren't from there
  7. I'd rather see him go abroad if/when he leaves. The deluded side of me really would love to see him stay, but it was never really likely.

  9. I think he has to be the one professional footballer I would hate to see playing for us. He's lazy and has a shite attitude. He used to live where I do and he comes down on occassion with loads of people round him, burning notes in clubs etc.
  10. I read that, beyond belief.
  11. Course they won't, they are all money grabbing bastards; none of them would do the right thing. They should though since they are not even worth 10% of their wages. That's mental though. If you or I went into work with a hangover and got nothing done we wouldn't offer to give up some of your money. Just because they're not worth what they're paid doesn't give them any obligation to return the money. If you went for a hangover for a year (which is what they've done) you'd be sacked. I'm not saying there is an obligation that's why i said voluntary. The thing is though, most people, regardless of how much they earn, live to their means, so it's highly unlikely that it would be just a simple case of taking a pay cut.

Awfully quiet around here today. Yes... a little TOO quiet, if you know what I mean.
  14. Calling Enrique BY FAR our worst is just simply ridiculous... in my opinion of course.

Yes but he is NOT being paid to be our manager. So what's stopping him quitting? I'm confused? He owes us nothing, has been here a short amount of time. Maybe he knows it's highly unlikely anyone else would take him on for half the wage he's getting with us. How do you know he wouldn't get another job on the same wage? For a start I can't imagine you even know how much his wage is. I can understand you saying this for high earning players but I can't really see this applying to a coach.

I feel a bit sorry for Houghton to be fair, he may be a shit motivator, and all the rest, but he just gets on with the job no matter what's thrown at him. Doesn't compain at all.
  17. Can you tell I just read the last post in the thread...
  18. Now I tend to steer clear of a lot of the financial talk but I get the impression a lot of that is down to his own fucks ups and shortsighted planning. Things such as making a profit in the transfer window and hoping we stayed up has ultimately backfired on him and cost him a lot more than the little bit he made in January.

Didn't realise he was 30. Don't want him now....

There were others around him putting in far worse performances yet probably earning a lot more, so can you really blame him for wanting to be paid on a par with the rest of his team mates? Iirc he only signed an extension the year before and had done fuck all to merit a rise. Just because others were earning ridiculous wages shouldn't mean he should, as that's what many people on here defended this board for, for trying to bring the wage structure under control (which was a load of shit) so it can't be had both ways. I'm not saying he should have been earning rediculous wages, but what I am saying is that I can understand a person (in any job) wanting a pay that is on par with other colleagues ultimately doing the same job.
