  1. I feel like I am in a minority here, I already renewed and am missing watching my team, so looking forward to the new season.

Taking approx. 2 mins per seat without any mishaps and with a target of changing 10k seats they are looking at 333k man hours. Master stroke if they can get fans to do it for free - or at least the price of a sandwich and a pint. However, this is just one more badly considered idea by their bizarre owner which will fall foul of several health and safety laws and surely end terribly.....

I would be really happy to be a solid mid table Premier League team for 3 - 4 years, however.... I just don't see it happening. Instead, assuming Rafa stays, we should be really pushing for one of the top 6 positions. All we had to do this year was to turn about half of those gut wrenching 1 - 0 defeats into wins and we would have done it this year, I mean, how many times have we been on top for large portions of a match carving out chance after chance just to lose to a sucker punch goal. If we had better strikers there would have been some surprising results this season... Spurs could easily have been 4 or 5 - 1 given the chances that went begging....
  4. Would imply everyone else is just gonna stand still which obviously won't happen. Given that reality, staying up would be unlikely. A lot will make stupid buys and appointments and go backwards probably. It's a complete myth that the whole league gets stronger year on year. Ferguson used to say if you don't improve you go backwards, it's very naive and borderline delusional of anyone to think if we were only to add a striker to this team that we wouldn't go backwards and very lucky to be anything but contending relegation. Just to clarify, I did say team and not squad. I would still be happy if our starting 11 was the same with the addition of a striker that can score. We definitely need to strengthen the squad as a whole because everyone who commented saying that our players will get worse is maybe half right. Some will get worse as they are coming towards the end of their useful career, others are likely to continue to improve. We do need better cover at full back than the cover we currently have. Also in my current starting 11 I am including Kenedy, by no means guaranteed to be with us next year. Diame has always got the potential to become the Diame that we all hated and so a good cover for him is a must. Hayden and Merino are still on the improvement curve and must improve considerably before we can rely on them week in week out.
  5. I am pretty happy with the entire team apart from strikers, it would not bother me one bit if we started the next season with the exact same starting 11 as we closed with but, for the exception of someone who can get on the end of the ball and actually finish the chances the team creates. (And I never thought I would ever think the above where Paul Dummett is concerned)
  6. Once again we dominate, well... play pretty well, in a game and come away with nothing... It is a well worn path and a typical script that we could all write... Loads of early chances, some of really high quality, not taken followed by a sucker punch. In this case the sucker punch came quite early and we should have had time to rectify but, this is us we are talking about. Absolutely agree that safety in this league was a priority - we achieved that with time to spare (for once). I think we will need to beat Chelsea in order to secure that 10th place finish... Really looking forward to Sunday, last game of the season at home always feels special. I will definitely be happy to stay behind to applaud this team on their lap on honour, they have completely deserved it this year!

Failing to notice that he wouldn't go to Everton in respect to Liverpool fans but, believing that he would even consider our nearest neighbours......

Does anyone have any idea why they think they have soooo many "undercover mags" on RTG? I cannot recall many, if any, occasions where we have suggested that someone on here is an undercover mackem... I know we had a couple but, it isn't a regular thing. Practically every thread in their site has some poster accusing another of being a mag..... It is almost like anyone that does not subscribe to their fanciful world of make believe must be an imposter, yet the really funny thing about this is that when they have a clear mackem pretending to be a fan of - insert club here - in peace they lap it up.....

There is a thread on their site that bemoans the fact that they were only 6 points away from being safe.... not one of them has picked up on the fact that they were THAT SHIT all season but, still only failed to stay up by 6 points. Last season the standard at the bottom of the Championship was considerably higher, Rotherham aside maybe, and if a team had been as bad as them in that league they would have been relegated by Christmas.

It must be incredibly annoying to think that you, as a random mackem, has paid out full price for your seat and yet a further 8 - 10k people who are there may have paid as little as nothing for theirs....

Given their well publicized running costs if Short had paid all the debt up to date a couple of weeks ago then they will surely be close to GBP 1M in the red already.... and growing! Maybe a little less if the onerous third party debt interest payment is no longer being paid!
  12. Do you think the FA just sit back on a Saturday and watch MotD to catch up with all the foul play that their referees have missed during any given Saturday? Not condoning Slimani for the kick, it was totally stupid but, MotD seem to be the go to authority of spotting all infringements and ensuring they are raised to the highest level for follow up...

Currently getting all excited about a sighting of Mick McCarthy in a pub in Boldon having lunch: And the mackems have the fuckin neck to call us fat and gravy stained..... look at the clip of this cunt with him....

Allardyce, rate myself 11/10.... Even Squires sees him as an odious prick!
  16. While I agree that for the sake of Arsenal they are ready for a change at the top I cannot help but, think the fans are a bunch of ungrateful cunts. 3 Premier League titles 7 FA Cups 7 Charity Shields In the space of 22 years! More than most clubs have win in their entire history!

Got little to do with N'zogbia or Sunderland but I didn't realise until yesterday that Olivier Bernard is only 38 and last kicked a professional football when he was 26. Didn't Bernard have some issues with his hips? Arthritis or something similar.... Currently the owner of Durham City FC, stayed in the area simply because it is mint here!
  18. I sit just ahead of the Gallowgate 18 yard line, the move was stunning, Slimani powerful header to Ayoze, neat back heel flick to Richie in space and the rest is a blur! Great awareness from Perez to know that Richie was coming in behind him. Actually great goal!
  19. Text received from an Arsenal season ticket holder mate of mine: "Good win Pinkers. Should keep you up! Happy for you" Cannot argue with facts!

That, in Sunderland, is the equivalent of someone from Gosforth putting up some really expensive and tasteful Christmas lights around their property to celebrate the festive season. Clearly in Sun'lun they spend their entire existence trying to display something.... anything... that would make people notice them above their nearest neighbours in football.

    Kenedy

Kennedy and Slimani together for that last 25 mins yesterday looked class.... Their link up play and movement to play off each other was outstanding. If only we could sign them both.... Kennedy ran himself into the ground yesterday as well, no doubt that he enjoys playing for us and has bought into this teams incredible work ethic. Also unsurprising that he is catching the eye of bigger clubs with a willingness to spend money....
  22. I also read on 90mins some quotes from Jamie Vardy bemoaning our 11 man defence followed by long ball tactics to hit them on a counter attack.... Ignoring the irony of how they basically won the league with long balls from Drinkwater through for him to run onto and score to help them win the league a couple of seasons ago..... They really cannot take being beaten by us can they?

I was at the League Cup Final, we hardly saw a Norwich supporter before or after to get friendly with and when Chisholm scored the own goal and Walker missed the penalty the Mackems weren’t exactly taking it in good spirit. There’s more than just an early best supporters in the world element to this. They lost and needed something the cling onto and used this to show how super they were. Iirc they’d beaten Norwich at Carrow Rd a week or so earlier and they expected to win the final. The only reason I was at the final was because my best mate supports them and he had a spare ticket which he couldn’t, literally, give away. It wasn’t until the night before that I agreed to go down. Was a good day mind it’d have been unbearable in the mini bus coming home if they’d won. Some of my mackem mates were at this match and they said that there was a massive football kick about in Wembley Car Park with Sun'lun fans taking on Norwich fans, they all got along famously and have remained firm football friends ever since....
  24. In case anyone hadn't seen this. There will be no Metro service on Sunday 15th April between South Gosforth and Heworth, the line is closed. Buses will run at 5 minute intervals, number 900, instead. Expect chaos!
