At least he is not full of gravy stains....
  2. https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2017/dec/13/mike-ashley-sale-newcastle-united-amanda-staveley#click=https://t.co/UeMSWtA5No If the last sentence is true... That would be beyond mental..... It has been years since I can honestly say we had a good transfer window, this one may just be the first of many exciting ones for us!
  3. Can you imagine how you would feel if this was announced tomorrow on our 125th anniversary, a home game and one with a flag celebration already planned.....? The atmosphere would be incredible.

Did Sun'lun win the league on Saturday or something? My facebook page is full of them gloating that we lost and they won a game.... Burton wasn't it? that footballing power house!

He is pretty smart, has a degree etc. Will be reasonably wealthy but, also has the potential to do something else with his life outside of football....

If it is a second tear to the same cruciate ligament I would have concerns about him being able to return at all. Shame because he seems to be a decent player and a fine young man as well.
  7. Was chatting to my Man City supporting mate this week, he was unaware that we were up for being taken over but, I told him it appeared to be the same "group" that brokered their deal.... he said that they (and he is a long term, long suffering fan who has put his money where his mouth is for years - good times and mostly bad!) as a group of fans had zero idea that Man City were even being taken over up until the day it was officially announce.... Of course back then Twitter and general social media wasn't the disease that it is now so rumours were obviously minimized..... If it wasn't for intrusive (made up) journalism and socal media ITK's then we would all be equally in the dark that anything was going on. He was really surprised that we were on the brink (or so it seems) of being bankrolled by some middle eastern cash! He did say that if it does happen we will seriously love it! But to be prepared for huge amounts of general hatred from other teams' fans. No shit eh? I told him we were used to that anyway!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/11/08/sunderlands-duncan-watmore-joins-juan-mata-donating-1-wages/ Nice lad, must be the fact he went to uni in Newcastle that made him that way. There is a completely cringefest of a thread on RTG started by Mag in Peace on this exact subject....

https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/the-mags.1401612/ How sad do you need to be to be having a laugh at our U21 team being beaten when their own team is actually bottom of the Chimpionship?
  10. I thought I was the only person that saw that push..... it was ridiculous and right in the line of the assistant ref yet not deemed to be a foul? I also thought that Gayle needs to sort his hair out, not sure what he was thinking about when he ran his comb through it and produced that mess before game.... :-)

Thanks both..... he was immense! However, he has only just this year gone into comprehensive school and only had one confrontation that could be classed as someone being aggressive towards him so I think he is slightly naïve in the ways of the mackem warrior..... he will learn! haha.

My little lad was great, he was talking to the mackem boys and really saying that they need to look at the state of their own team before they come over to us to try to wind us up. Mind you he was strategically positioned just behind my left shoulder so he could duck out if they came at him.... So far as being boisterous and sweary on a Metro, that is just a matter for common decency, most people are decent and will not act up but, frankly I would say that when you do hear excessive swearing it is generally spoken with a Wearside accent, well that or some properly chavvy Gateshead youth... we have all seen (and heard) them! Someone on the train, or me, will suggest they reign it in a bit for the sake of the people around them.... Never had anyone make more of a fuss than that and often even the scuffiest kid will immediately apologise.

The little chubby one was actually alright, he was quite funny.... his mate with the missing tooth was a problem though, he had a mouth on him and I had to tell him to stop swearing a few times while on the train.... people around were visibly upset by them which is tragic really... two kids can cause people to feel so uncomfortable... Quite a few young kids were on the train as also there was a Little Mix event on at the Arena during the afternoon as well....
  14. Personally I think it was a poor decision from Rafa to put him on the pitch, the atmosphere was already tense because of the way that the game was playing out and Bournmouth were starting to get on top! Murphy really looked like the classic rabbit in the headlamps, especially when he lost the ball with his first touch and didn't even make an effort to try to recover. His next touch was when the ball was played to him with him in space on our left, he went to take on a Bournmouth player and immediately lost the ball, again he stood on the spot and made no attempt to get in front of the attacking player. I really feel for him and as many have said in this thread, he is not going to have the luxury to have time to establish himself in this league at this level in a team like ours where we need to fight for everything. We need 11 fully committed players who are prepared to throw their bodies on the line in order to preserve our Premier League position, I do not doubt his commitment as a footballer but, I do doubt his spirit. He really is not ready. Atsu was doing fine on the left before he was taken off the field. The "tactical" change that we made would really have been better to add some bite into the middle of the field, yes Mitro would have been my choice.... Not because he is amazing but, I think he would have shaken things up and given the Bournmouth team something to think about.

Did anyone see the two little scrotes that came into Newcastle on Saturday on a Metro at about 1:30pm - at least that was the time I got in from Heworth, they were about 13 - 14 years old dressed in Sunderland tops, scarves and hats. They were trying to wind up people on the metro they were on with their rotten Sunderland accents. Came over to me because my 12 year old son had his Newcastle top on as we were on the way to the match and tried to get us to bite at them.... I simply asked why they thought it was a good idea to come to Newcastle on a match day dressed like they were, they said they were here to wind up the mags... planned to go to St James' and everything. I recon they were either quickly picked up by the police and taken back to Sun'lun or ended up in the RVI with serious injuries.... One of them, who had a front tooth missing, was particularly aggressive with me asking if I liked Sunderland, when I told him I hated Sunderland he said I must hate him as well.... as much as I was hating him at that point I smiled and said that I didn't, in fact I didn't know him personally to make that sort of judgment but, I said I thought he was being stupid to be doing what they were doing.... They got off at Central and came up to the street and started chanting Sunderland stuff and being generally obnoxious to anyone who looked at them. Wonder what happened to them, hopefully the police saw them before any Newcastle radgepackets did, for their own good......

I recon he could do better by putting his boots on and giving himself a game in place of any one of his players.....

I seem to recall, as do all the mackems, that they once beat their local rivals 0 - 9 in 1908 or something. Guess this is what Grayson was referring to when he said making Sunderland great again....
  18. Think it's been well documented in the press that she's purchasing us with the funds within PCP and she'll be chairwoman. They all might be wrong though. They usually are. This is how I was lead to understand it as well. She would take an active position on the board if the take over was successful.....
  19. Ah man, I have tried to follow a game on here in the past and it is difficult, people react to things in different ways.... it is really hard to get a true perspective.. I think I would rather just wait until I could get the result at the end rather than try to follow in a dodgy wifi on a plane.... Haha.
