I sit just ahead of the Gallowgate 18 yard line, the move was stunning, Slimani powerful header to Ayoze, neat back heel flick to Richie in space and the rest is a blur! Great awareness from Perez to know that Richie was coming in behind him. Actually great goal!

Text received from an Arsenal season ticket holder mate of mine: "Good win Pinkers. Should keep you up! Happy for you" Cannot argue with facts!

That, in Sunderland, is the equivalent of someone from Gosforth putting up some really expensive and tasteful Christmas lights around their property to celebrate the festive season. Clearly in Sun'lun they spend their entire existence trying to display something.... anything... that would make people notice them above their nearest neighbours in football.

Kennedy and Slimani together for that last 25 mins yesterday looked class.... Their link up play and movement to play off each other was outstanding. If only we could sign them both.... Kennedy ran himself into the ground yesterday as well, no doubt that he enjoys playing for us and has bought into this teams incredible work ethic. Also unsurprising that he is catching the eye of bigger clubs with a willingness to spend money....

I also read on 90mins some quotes from Jamie Vardy bemoaning our 11 man defence followed by long ball tactics to hit them on a counter attack.... Ignoring the irony of how they basically won the league with long balls from Drinkwater through for him to run onto and score to help them win the league a couple of seasons ago..... They really cannot take being beaten by us can they?

I was at the League Cup Final, we hardly saw a Norwich supporter before or after to get friendly with and when Chisholm scored the own goal and Walker missed the penalty the Mackems weren’t exactly taking it in good spirit. There’s more than just an early best supporters in the world element to this. They lost and needed something the cling onto and used this to show how super they were. Iirc they’d beaten Norwich at Carrow Rd a week or so earlier and they expected to win the final. The only reason I was at the final was because my best mate supports them and he had a spare ticket which he couldn’t, literally, give away. It wasn’t until the night before that I agreed to go down. Was a good day mind it’d have been unbearable in the mini bus coming home if they’d won. Some of my mackem mates were at this match and they said that there was a massive football kick about in Wembley Car Park with Sun'lun fans taking on Norwich fans, they all got along famously and have remained firm football friends ever since....

In case anyone hadn't seen this. There will be no Metro service on Sunday 15th April between South Gosforth and Heworth, the line is closed. Buses will run at 5 minute intervals, number 900, instead. Expect chaos!

I think there are many similarities between Slimani and Mitro but, from the very short period I watched him in his debut for us he impressed me with how quick he looked. He was powerful, mobile and got into some promising positions. I have a real soft spot for Mitro but, he has never shown the form he is playing with currently at Fulham while playing for us, well maybe he had a couple of decent performances but, never consistent. I always felt frustration with Mitro in that while Rafa always seemed to have a game plan for each match we played, when Mitro entered the field it looked clear to me that he was not playing to the system the manager expected. If he cannot follow instructions and worse than that cannot avoid stupid bookings then, in our team with the limited talent we have, he does not have a place. I do wonder if he even wants to come back to Newcastle now, he is getting regular game time and doing well. Something he will not get easily at Newcastle.

A quote from their forum, notice the irony Amazing irony.... Those amazing fans who turn up no matter what... not me though, stream for me like!

If anyone had done due diligence on that financial shambles and not run a mile screaming NOOOoooooo then they deserve everything they get!

Derby were absolute dogshite. I was embarrassed to watch them. Am I right to think that last season the entire Championship was better quality? I recall very few really shit teams...
-
Well both times in the last 10 years when we have been relegated it has been just awful for us.... Newly promoted teams must have been in dreamland waiting to play us.

I thought it might be a parody... someone from here playing the part of a Sun'lun special football friend....

Who is Magpie 1 on the SMB form? "Mag wishing you Well" post.... following all the same well worn clichés that their own little made up football friends have used and yet he is being told to fuck off left right and centre.... How strange! https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/mag-wishing-you-well.1423987/

Gateshead are expecting around 2000 fans in tomorrow, only planning to open the main stand. They have been told that Bromley will bring about 200 fans up with them. Looking forward to it!

Well that's put all their minds at rest. Their made up Wolves supporting friend has posted the following in response to the well respected throughout football comment: "Too right pal. I know most Wolves supporters respect Sunderland fans for their passion and knowledge of the game. Geordies in general are just big headed twats who Bully managed to score 4 goals against on their manor. " That is so clearly a Sunderland fan pretending, it is word for word what they are regularly saying about themselves...

In all my years of supporting Newcastle (and there are many) we won more times than we were beaten by Sunderland. Those 6 in a row wins for them were really painful at the time and still annoy me considerably. It will take years (because we will not see them for years) before we can correct the balance and shut them up. However, like the 9 - 1 match in the early 1900's, anything that happens in our favour in the future will be ignored so that they can say that they beat us 6 times in a row.

Tragically England's Harry Kane seems to have suffered more serious ankle ligament damage than first thought. Pity it wasn't Lejeune that dealt the "perfectly fair" tackle to inflict it. ??

Swap ‘working class’ for 4th world troglodytes (Ooh, get me and my middle class England speak) and I reckon your bellend would remain unstung in that particular wasps’ nest, Legionnaire If the point of the post was to compare the walk through our City up to St James' Park, wandering through historic streets bathed in glorious architecture to walking through an old derelict brown field industrial site in what is frankly an awful part of an even worse City then the point is accepted by me. We also widely accept that Sunderland has some rather unusual inhabitants, much like Newcastle, obviously we are soaked in gravy while they ooze class but, I think point raised about the average fan from either side of the "fence" was quite badly made.

At this stage in a critical season for us I am pretty glad that Lascelles is not in the squad, it would be typical NUFC luck for him to get an England call up with all the ceremony that comes with it and to then receive a season ending injury in training from the mistimed challenge of a team mate that makes our run in and Premier League security even more treacherous....

No he doesn't. He can just put it into voluntary liquidation. Short's holding of the club- both equity and debt are worth absolutely zero. Only once the business is worth more than the debt owed to Guggenheim will Short get a penny. Guggenheim may opt to appoint an administrator if Sunderland fail to meet the financial covenant tests in the loan agreement, at which point they may accelerate the debt (demand it all back) and on the basis Sunderland have no means to pay, then either side could appoint administrators. However this can be done without the need for a costly administration process if Short and Guggenheim mutually agree a debt-for-equity swap, which would hand control to Guggenheim and Short would be left with nothing (or virtually nothing). This is pretty much what I was thinking as well, the external debt owner (Guggenheim) has more to lose than Short and frankly if I was the owner of that debt and such rumours were floating around I would be making some serious moves to protect my investment to the point where I may even consider taking ownership of the club and putting my own people in charge to try to stabilize the rot and then to see what can be salvaged. Kind of like a VC investor taking the bits that are worth anything and scrapping the rest.

Dangermows has been abducted and is currently being bummed by Spacealiens, someone is now masquerading in his place on RTG https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/just-seen-the-mags-goals.1422042/ "As much as they are usually very dull to watch and play with negative tactics their second goal was superb. Defence to attack in seconds to finish the game. Pace, awareness and clinical. Fair play. Didn't think they had it in them. Twats. "

M62 is a right mess around Saddleworth area. Unless there is a serious thaw I would say that the game is at risk due to danger to people traveling from the North East.

That match last night between Spurs and Rochdale was crazy, the ref standing there with his finger to his ear for several minutes waiting for decisions to be made. The BT Sports team asking their token ref what he thought of the VAR decisions such as the penalty awarded to Spurs for a foul that was outside the box and continued into the box until the Spurs player fell down.... "yes, definitely a penalty" The amount of these that are awarded as free kicks outside the box makes that decision alone ludicrous.. I honestly think if the VAR had said free kick outside the box them their commentary ref (Graham Poll I think) would probably have agreed with that as well.. If they are going to do it then it should be like rugby with the conversation being played through the PA System in the ground for all to hear. As it stands right now I absolutely hate it.
