Anyone seen that clip on Facebook with Jamie Carragher talking about his problem with Sunderland? Basically saying that they are rubbish all season and then miraculously pull out of the bag this last minute escape from relegation, then goes on to say how they celebrate their survival as if they actually won something. Really seems to genuinely dislike the club! Please post the clip if anyone has it.. funny!

Does anyone actually "give the V's" these days? Is it still a thing? Actually laughing to myself at the thought of some random bloke in a Newcastle top standing near to some well dressed Sun'lun fans sticking his two fingers up at them at regular intervals... Just asking for a pie to be thrown in my opinion....
  6. I know it is a lovely idea to use lower prices to attract a decent crowd to support the team in cup games but, behind me was a group of people, mixed age - possibly an extended family - and the first thing I heard them say as they arrived 5 mins after kick off was "which team are we?" Controversial (and not much of a step away from giving out free tickets to schools / university in line with out mackem neighbours) but, why does the club not directly offer group tickets at very low cost to local grass roots football teams. Me and the coach of my sons team brought a load of our lads along to the match, they loved it. We booked early and were able to get a load of seats together. If Newcastle United made an offer really early to the local grass roots teams the ground would be full of kids that are actually interested in football and potentially the fans of the future....
  7. You can pay on the night in the Leazes End as far as I understand.
  8. I actually think he came across OK. I know he has done none of us any favours and only appointed Rafa as a last resort to save his flagging Newcastle United investments but, the whole point of this interview was to answer questions that arose as a result of the parliamentary enquiry into working conditions at Sports Direct... In context that business is enormous and he has tried to retain 100% control over every aspect of it, of course only focusing on the bits that make him money. Hence the HR and day to day concerns of the people that work for him have not been his priority - until now! He seems to be trying to correct some of the problems, zero hours contracts are not his idea, they are a thing that seems to have happened and developed over recent years. These suit some people and don't suit others. So he says he will give contracts that guarantee a minimum number of hours to anyone who wants one, fair enough? He pays what the government tell him is the minimum wage, if it was higher he would pay the higher amount, he said it, he does not set these rules. On the topic of him having a wedge of cash in his pocket.... well why not? He is wealthy, he has risked everything to make his business successful and it paid off. Some of the things he has done are shady - the float and subsequent buy back for example - has pissed off the stock market but, it was not illegal, in the end the stock market itself is as shady as anything he has personally done! I still hate what he has done to our club but, I don't hate him for being successful at business.

By full kit are they saying shorts and socks with the black and white top? I have never seen anyone, except maybe youngsters, dressed in full kits at the match. (definition of youngsters is like under 10 and accompanied by a normally dressed parent or guardian)
  10. That is very inconvenient! I like a pre-match pint in that vicinity... I now have to rethink my whole day.... my mind is racing...... Haymarket Metty is near Sgt Peppers, sorted Mint, cheers! Is it any good in Sgt Peppers? (haha) Best bar in Newcastle. So will I see you all in there then? Excellent... However, it is likely that I will give that one a swerve for somewhere a little more, erm.... better / less weird....

  13. It was a response to the post above mate.
  14. Surely a Sun'lun strategy.....
  15. Just bought my three, me, my dad and my son... 16 Quid! Bargain for sure!
  16. was she a little heavy set, slightly swarthy looking with a goatie?? I have to say no that that.... sounds like the girl of my dreams though.... thought it may have been the new girl Rafaella. See you are too smart for me, I had no idea where you were going with that one.... hahaha

  18. Hats off to the Box Office team. I emailed last week because I do not like my new season ticket that I took for this season, well my dad cannot see properly from where we have chosen to sit - Leazes L1. Even though we are not directly behind a goal half of the pitch is obscured by the nets and when the team is attacking the Gallowgate it seems to be a long way off, plus there is a bloke a row or two in front of us who comes with two very young children who really needs to take a look at himself - his anger and swearing is actually quite horrible, I don't mind reasonable swearing but, this guy is absolutely ridiculous - plus his kids are right next to him..... My dad really wasn't enjoying the games like we used to when we sat in the East Stand (the view makes up for the lack of atmosphere and poor toilet facilities). Anyway, they said come down to the box office when you can and we will try to move you. We went down there and within 10 mins we were relocated in the East Stand with good seats, remarkably close to where we used to sit previously). Obviously we had to pay the difference but, that is OK. The seats we have chosen are already taken for the Wolves and Norwich games so they gave us different seats on paper tickets for those matches. Excellent service and very easy transaction. Good work girls! (think one was called Glenda, missed the other girls name.)

You would expect that once M'Vila becomes a free agent that a lot of teams would become interested in him. He will have better options that Sun'lun for sure.

Rumour that Gyan is set to return to Sun'lun this week. Some mackems thinking that this is fantastic and potentially the signing of the season.....
  21. 7000+ screaming Geordies in The Cottage tonight..... I am really excited to have the season back - especially this season! Rafa has restored by love of NUFC.
  22. Mine came the very next day after I ordered it. More concerned over the fact that my season card hasn't arrived, I have renewed this year after 3 years away. I go on holiday soon and planned to give my ticket to a mate to use for the games I miss while I am away.... Expect that it will arrive soon (hopes).
  23. They've named the keeper 'Pinky' and most of the songs were about him My nickname is Pinky, I am slightly offended.... haha
  24. Henrik Larrson came back to play from such a break and I think there have been others, Cisse at Liverpool is one.... Even Alan Smith came back after his. The problem may be that the psychological effects make it impossible to be the same player ever again, the fear of it happening again etc. All the same, really awful injury and I wish him all the very best in his long road to recovery.

Sean Dyche is properly in his comfort zone at Burnley, the fans love him and he is having relative success. I would not see him wishing to leave, especially as Burnley have just been promoted to the Premier League. The lure of Sun'lun, no matter how appealing it seems to all of us on here ( )would not be enough to take him away from there.
