  1. You do have Suarez though... Aye, and Sterling hitting form now could cause Koralov a few problems. Yaya-Fernandinho midfield is gelling nicely, and to stop them, you need to press them hard and give them little time on the ball. Allen and Henderson are great pressers, but can they last the pace and stamina for 90 minutes ?! Not too sure. Really hope they play both Dzeko and Negredo, because it'll mean one of Nasri or Navas will miss out. Shame Silva didn't get a booking on saturday to be suspended for this. He's absolutely brilliant If Skrtel starts, I'd put a mortgage on him conceding a penalty to Kompany at a set piece. Hope it's Toure-Sakho. It'll be a great game for the neutral for sure. High scoring and attractive football galore. I think you're going to come up short though.
  2. Weren't we linked with Fox when he was at Coventry under Keegan? Takes a very good free kick.
  3. A red would be a bit harsh unless it was REALLY obvious but yellows need to be shown a lot more and I hate this "Booked so early it ruins the game" bollocks. If the ref gives a freekick for diving it should be a yellow every time, not sure why they don't, it's not like an overly enthusiastic tackle. If you think they have cheated then there is no grey area imo. It would soon disappear from the game though Jon.
  4. Did Januzaj get booked for the pratfall he attempted in the area in our fantastic victory at Gloryhuntville? I have a feeling he didn't. Make simulation a red card offence it would soon stop. They're obvious enough to spot.
  5. You're right. clutching at straws would be more like it. I'm happy with any sort of win when your first choice central defenders are injured, your best midfielder is injured and your best striker is injured. Quite a young team on the pitch. The future is bright. Not really. Young teams in this day and age mean fuck all.
  6. Till you play a good side. You're wanking over beating West Ham ffs.
  7. Don't hold your breath. Keep what we hold is always Pardew's ethos against the weak sides as well you know.
  8. Keep Suarez fit and they are genuine Title contenders. Henderson has really come to the party this season too. Should be in the England set up again this time deservedly. Far better player than Cleverley.

Agree with this, mind. I do love Beckham though. His work ethic, his professionalism and his overall class has always shone through. He's had some almighty lows and been written off time and time again but he's always showed great mentality to bounce back and prove people wrong. Off the pitch he's always came across like a genuinely nice bloke andhe's been nothing but good news for England as a whole and is a great ambassador for this country and we should be proud that he’s ours. Ahem ......1998.

He had a great right foot but no left foot. He had great stamina but no pace. He had tremendous work rate but questionable temperament. He wasn't shit but neither was he great. Simples

Why though? I honestly don't get the grief. He still racked up over 700 career appearances so it's definitely a case of 'as well as', as opposed to 'rather than'. I just prefer footballers to keep themselves to themselves and go about trying to be the very best footballer they can be. To become famous for doing what they do better than almost everyone else. He's always come across as far too desperate for publicity and fame. I always compare him to Paul Scholes, about the same age, same team, same training, same managers etc. One will go down as one of the best midfielders of his generation and the other married a spice girl, became a walking clothes-horse and hawked his brand at every possible opportunity to maximise his status/fame. I know which one I've got the respect for. As per Middsy nails it. Indeed. Ultimately he'll be remembered more for his nonsense off the pitch. Will he fuck, football fans will remember him as a top player who played for Man Utd, Real, AC and England with distinction. Only your celeb obsessed brain dead sun reading morons will remember him for marrying a Spice Girl, wearing a dress etc. I don't get the Beckam hate like. He is one of the best English players of all-time, is a thoroughly nice bloke and on the pitch gave it his all. So what if he's a huge star away from the pitch, good luck to the man. In an age where the likes of Joey Barton are fawned over or Ballotelli regarded as legends, Beckham really is a global football icon, someone we should be applauding not slagging. The man has made the absolute most of his career and life without being a cunt, flaunting himself or going off the rails. He was never in that very top bracket of players but there is no denying he was a great player. That performance for England against Greece remains one of the best individual performances I've ever seen. I've yet to see a better all-round passer or crosser of a ball either, traits often downplayed as key attributes in the pace and skillz obsessed mindset of the FIFA generation these days. David Beckham will be remembered as one of the greatest players England has produced and indeed one of our most successfull. Is he fuck one of the best English players of all time. He's certainly one of the most over rated; and the reason for that is partially because of the media whoring. Yes his Greece performance will always be his greatest moment but in truth it was the peak of an England career based on hard work, a few free kicks and costing us the chance of progressing in France due to his Manchester United inbred petulance. EDIT: Fucking excellent post by tmunkey.
  12. If he badly wanted to play for NUFC, he would shut up, knuckle down and get on with his football rather than saying he'll look to leave if he doesn't get a game. If he's not willing to be 4th choice and fight to be 1st choice, then we are better off without. There's other players who are more valued than him would love to be playing more regular football who haven't came out to press with ultimatums. How do you know he hasnt knuckled down? He's a good centre half frustrated by his lack of game time. Rather him being unhappy and hopefully banging Pardew's door than merely accepting the status quo and taking the money. I think we need to keep him because we will need him at some stage and then it's down to him whether he keeps his place. I'm not saying he's not but there's no reason to start coming out in the press expressing his desire to play and if he doesn't, he'll leave. Just shut up and get on with your football, your 4th choice and he will continue to be and he can have no arguements about that. He won't continue to be. He will get another chance through injury or suspension at some stage. What is wrong with being unhappy with not playing?

  15. Remember watching that match. Excellent entertainment plus the added bonus of seeing the Dipper sense of injustice that they are famous for. A fantastic Sunday lunchtime.

He married the right woman. Mr and Mrs Can'tbeartobeoutofthelimelight
  17. And Robson didn't play from the 2nd game against Holland onwards. Platt famously came in. And there was no Barnes either,we played with Wright as a sweeper, Butcher and Walker as central defenders and Pearce and Paul Parker as wing backs.
  18. Hmm, so Alan you work for a nutjob at moment and seem to enjoy that, how about taking it 10 steps further and working for a complete loon, just don't mention transfers at all, bit of a sore subject. I take it you haven't experienced James before.
  19. Man United will go all out to win this as they'll not win owt else.
  20. His roll of honour says he is. Kind of agree he doesn't seem to have the same hunger as before.

Big hit for Wearside Jacko that one iirc
  22. We're going to dominate possession like at OT. And we're going to win convincingly. 3 or 4 nowt.
  23. Genuine title contenders Liverpool. Rodgers thus far has done a great job there.
  24. Have to give Blobfish credit here. They are dismantling this Spuds side without being at full strength.
