See i've just got home...Steven Taylor had a great game today,and would be my captain next season.Nolan,in contrast was knackered after 10 mins.Felt Shearer got team selection wrong today,if Enrique was fit to be sub,then he should have started.I also felt Tayls would have been better equipped to deal with Young,though i felt Edgar played well,but after 70 mins.,he was shagged.Big up to Martins and Butt for their 100% efort,but Oba should havew scored just before half-time,withg that free header.

Michael Owen's left foot is of as much use on a football pitch as Heather Mills'.It was inevitable that once his pace had gone,he wouldn't be able to restructure his game as Alan Shearer did,due to his lack of technique.His pace used to paper over the cracks of what an average footballer he was/is.All he ever was,was a goalscorer,who didn't contribute much to general team play.

No eye for goal was his main failing. He could get in the right place but didn't have killer instinct / touch. Always quite liked him, but it's almost pointless having a player that good who's that inconsistent with regards to fitness and performance. Yep,he was a very good player,in spite of his lack of confidence in his shooting ability,had he had the confidence to shoot,then he would have been an intrnational regular,probably usurping Lampard.
