The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

Yep. The pessimism is due to losing against Villa, it’s literally the only thing that’s gone wrong for weeks. We’re still in an incredible position and should do it. -

We don’t know I guess. Right now I’d prefer Villa to lose, but at the end of the season we don’t really know who’ll be where. -
Solanke was a really baffling signing.
-
Means very little. We had a hard game where others didn’t. We just need to keep picking up points and we’ll finish top 5.
-
Don’t be silly.
-
Hmm, I’d hope not because they were always pretty likely to go up.
-
Spurs name some absolutely crazy lineups at times.
-
The obvious answer would be nowhere.
-
Sad I don’t need to buy a new shirt but happy to continue my life-long love affair with Les Bleus.
-
I mean, our transfers were basically perfect before Mitchell even game in, so adding his expertise to what we already have should result in something very good. Especially if we get CL, which we will.
-
I don’t think they can make them all permanent. It’s a temporary gamble to get in the CL.
-
I thought it was really bad. I wonder if weak refs rely on some sort of briefing that Newcastle are physical and expect them to make more contact etc.
-
Exactly, they were never going to win the CL, losing to maybe the best team in the world is hardly going to devastate them.
-
Has he been playing behind closed doors games just for you?
-
Would've been tempted to just switch him and Tino over.
-
No, the ball went to Pope on one bounce, he would never have even got it. Actually in the end Schar didn't even need to foul Watkins.
-
Haven't watched it back but I thought Murphy was the only one who had the chance to track Maatsen for his goal. Maybe because Trippier had already been dragged inside. The one thing they could do is let him take on Schar down the outside and shoot with his left.
-
Sad but very predictable to see some of the opinions after this match like. These lads are all incredible and are about to deliver the best season in any of our lives, one of the best in the history of the club. I hope when we're sitting here with a trophy in the cabinet and Champions League football to look forward to, some people will get a fucking grip.

Aston Villa vs. Newcastle United: 19/04/25 @ 17:30 (Sky Sports)

I don’t feel nervous about these games anymore really. It’s a hard game, we could lose, that’s sport. We’ll give it everything and they won’t relish playing us. We also have more than enough games to collect the points we need. Really hope we beat them obviously. -

Dunno if there’ll be a right moment for this but it might be nice to do a dedicated Tindall flag when Eddie gets back. Maybe one mad dog, one cerebral-looking dog and Tindall in the foreground. -
Brilliant interview with Downey, bet there are very few assistant managers who could step into the limelight as seamlessly as Tindall has done. Don’t think there’s any reason to be worried, they’ve obviously decided that Howe will focus on his recovery and he trusts the rest of the staff to continue the work until he’s ready. I think this kind of stuff is almost as pleasing as the football results TBH, such a long way away from Charnley doing every executive role and How’s the Bacon giving everyone half the week off.

“Linked” at least, not sure.

It’s easy forget he’s actually 18 like, since he’s played some games for us and is much more involved in the team than any normal kid would be.
-
If we loan him we need to sign 2 CMs.
