I think it’s more that it’s such a big investment fund that the things aren’t even connected. One part of PIF is funding the Saudi league, and the managers of that are trying to get players in. Another part is funding us and the managers of us (when we get some) are tasked with making us as good as possible. As much as I’d like the entire PIF to have a joined up strategy with NUFC at the centre, I’m not sure it’s realistic.

It’s basically just unlucky if one exec promises you something then someone else takes a senior job and changes the position. It’s annoying but it’s not like we lied to string him along, we just had different people making the decisions.

We’re not allowed to remember things, that’s key to society in 2025.
