He barely deflected the cross

Not sure how it would create any more of a circus mind. People can tweet about him and photograph him in Spain just the same. In fact it makes more of a story, as we’ve just seen. Why is an empty training ground in Spain any different to one in Newcastle? Sounds alright after that clarification from Downie though. If true.

That wasn’t our strategy though.
-
Still, we didn’t sell one of our best players to a top 4 rival so I guess Romano wouldn’t notice. That’s what we’re supposed to do apparently.
-
Yeah but he only went to Brighton so it doesn’t count.

Makes no sense, any world class player ‘might’ leave. There are a tiny number of destinations for players of that level. As Isak is finding out, Liverpool are basically his only option and even they haven’t made a bid. It’s not like we’re holding onto Messi while Real Madrid, PSG and Barca battle it out.

Logic doesn’t work anyway, there are no better things

He’s a football “journalist” so I need conclusive proof that he’s not an absolute waste of skin. None forthcoming yet.

Just assume it’s always a random tweet.

I take heart from the fact that there’ll eventually be a CB that Chelsea don’t want.

I just think he doesn't really have a clear position. Way too untidy to be a CM and not dangerous enough to be a forward. Also seems to get injured all the time.

Weirdest transfer saga I've seen for a while, although I don't follow many obviously. A player ready to go to a club that haven't bid, a seller that openly says they don't want to sell. The buyer has also invested in another massive purchase in the same position. Can't believe it's only been 2 weeks

Fucking hope so

Do we know Howe wanted all the power?
-
I don’t follow twitter gossip very closely, but I don’t know if there’s even any evidence that Howe demands full control of transfers. Nothing he says in public suggests he’s anything other than realistic about the challenges facing the club and cooperative with the people around him. He’s an intelligent, modern manager, he’s not a dinosaur. Maybe Mitchell was just the wrong fit, or the brief he was given was too vague, I don’t know.

I agree but we did already decide to go to that system, didn’t we? I think we picked the wrong individuals for the jobs.

Hopefully Man U won’t get it together, maybe Chelsea will also suffer from their ridiculously bloated squad. Wishful thinking but it’s what I’ve got.
