Nah I don't disagree with that really, I just think we could keep him for at least another season on his current deal. It's not like if he doesn't sign now he has to leave.

Thank you I just think it's extreme short-term thinking. He might not be as good next season, for example, who knows. I don't mind him 'wanting' to maximise his earnings, but unfortunately he might be in a position where he can't earn the max because he plays for Newcastle for another three years and we only have so much money. As I said before, I would be happy if he signs a new contract.

I feel really old when contracts are discussed like, I just think he agreed to his current salary and still has loads of time on his deal. Like I say, if the club wants or can reward him with more money than that's great. But I still can't see it entirely from the player's point of view. I know, I know.

He doesn't really have any negotiating power with 3 years left, it would be more like a decision from the club to reward him for being so good. But they can only reward him as much as they can afford. If he signed a new deal he could easily still be unsettled and/or sold.

I don't disagree, it just annoys me when people quote the number of keepers we have as if it means anything.

If he really prefers Man City we should just let him go. Imagine the sale of Ederson is maybe holding things up? Otherwise he’d be silly to go there.

Aye, I'm just living on the novelty of regularly being able to attend home games for the first time TBH. I will probably skip most of the cup games unless it's a really quiet month, priorities some CL and PL. Given that I know I won't be able to attend a final and I'll just be disappointed.

We do need a new keeper, it just has to be someone who’s carefully chosen and we’re absolutely confident in since Pope is pretty good already. It’s not like we have a crap keeper and just need to get him out ASAP.

Yeah who knows. Maybe they are willing to pay but Man City have first refusal anyway. IMO we should pay if we’re convinced he’s our keeper for the next 10 years.
