The problem is we’re not looking to do a Brighton and break into the European places. We’re looking to be a consistent CL and title challenging club. I would love loads of cheap unknown players that become world class, but it’s not an easy one to do.

Liverpool and Chelsea can’t sign everyone. Well maybe Chelsea can

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Could (almost) double the price if he improves for another couple of years I guess. That would make him one of the most dangerous and productive wingers in the best league in the world. That’s quite valuable. Guess there’s the price of guaranteed success as well, obvs. -
You’d have to hope that a strategy was agreed and some target list in place. If there were two completely different ideas about signings then we really were being stupid.

Wouldn’t Pedro’s agent just call Chelsea and they would come in? I just think the idea that we can wrap deals up quickly and secretly before any other club finds out is silly. We would need Pedro to reject Chelsea and prefer to come here, which he obviously didnt. -
That Guehi or nobody narrative was bollocks though. We went after him for so long because we thought it was nearly done, in the end we failed. Could’ve gone the other way but didn’t. It doesn’t mean we never looked at another CB. Obviously in hindsight you can say we should’ve pulled out earlier, but who knows what the deal felt like on the inside. By all accounts we also had Khusanov on our list before he went to Man City.

The club will be thinking they’ve still got 40 days to go, or whatever. It’s annoying that we’ve missed out on Ekitike but his price has gone crazy anyway. I wouldn’t really be anxious at all except for the possibility of selling Isak.
-
Quite a lot of people hammered the club for the money we wasted on Hall and Tino. Way too expensive.
-
It’s business to business selling isn’t it? Someone pushing software onto an executive who buys into how great it’ll be. Now they’ve bought it they have to force people to use it. Idiotic management is more of a threat than the actual AI.

I doubt we're even looking for someone of that profile. We've battered most of the bottom-half teams as it is.
-
I’ve gotta be less repetitive.

This is what I don't get about people saying he's good off the ball. He's really not good off the ball except at filling some space, but he's very easy to beat and play around.
-
I just think his touch and link up play is good, he’s always looking to play someone else in rather than go himself. Not Pirlo or anything but I’d say linking the play is the main reason to have him in your team.

Good lad and emotional to see the leaving video. Wish him all the best at Leeds. Must be hard for him to leave the club. That said, I’m surprised a PL club is interested in him because I don’t believe he is really good enough to add much to them. One of those who would probably have been offloaded earlier if we hadn’t had Ashley and Bruce. I’ll watch him for Leeds with interest - I’m willing to believe I’m biased against him because his mistakes wind me up so much. Watching him for another club will be a lot more relaxing and maybe I can be more objective. Hopefully the move will be a fresh start for him and he can approach it with confidence.

I’d say Jackson’s brain is one of his strengths, his weakness is he’s not hungry enough for goals.

Isn’t the thing that’s the wrong the release clause that Man City might decide to use?
-
Based on Elanga it’ll last one sleep.
-
Elanga bought the club a couple of days credit.
-
These opinions give me genuine anxiety
-
Return Elanga to Forest maybe.

Yet basically every transfer we’ve made has been brilliant.
