You'd hardly be "sacrificing games" by playing HBA instead of Leon Best. That isn't the reason we've lost any of the recent games. Best is a great lad and a decent player, but HBA's talent is on another planet. I just think it will be better for the club in the long-run if we let this lad play a decent run of games. He will come good if we have faith in him.

It's a strange one this, he would seem like exactly the kind of player who would stay. He's not good enough to play first-team football at a better club, and he always seems a good pro and a decent lad. Even if we sign another fullback he would be excellent to have around. Guess he's just looking a signing-on bonus and a wage increase, can't really blame him for that.

I know what you're saying, but I think the art of management is not waiting until you're doing badly to change the team. I know Best worked quite well with Ba, but HBA is the most talented and exciting player in our team and IMO we need to give him a run of 10 games to really see what he can do.

I tried that on FIFA last night, it didn't go that well. He's got the pace and strength, but lacks the close control. Not conclusive, but just putting it out there.

Anelka's far too young and good to go and play in China. Another couple of seasons in Europe would have been easily possible, sorry to see him end his top-flight career so soon.

Too good to turn down and all of that s****. If Ba keeps on banging them in the way he has, how long before the Tiote rumours change to him btw? It's f***ing horrible that we're even talking about this, but with those in charge, it's something that will always be at the back of our minds. If we want to get anywhere, we need to entertain any ideas that these offers are too good to turn down. Spurs have proven that with Modric - who I think is a class little player, but he's not worth £40 million pound, yet they knew he was more valuable to them than that. That's what we need to start doing. Absolutely. Easier said than done though, surely? Not many teams would have hung on to Modric like Spurs did, and even they might still lose him next summer.

Pards can't win with this one like... play Shola ahead of HBA and he gets criticised, start HBA and people say he should be playing 4-4-2. FWIW I can see why he went with Shola against Norwich, to provide an extra head to defend set pieces. We still conceded loads of headers in the end, but I can understand the thinking.

Totally agree. Any game where we have two below-average fullbacks playing centre half we would probably lose. That's a fact, whether Pardew or Sir Alex Ferguson is in charge. It's a blow to have lost to Norwich, but when he have Colo and Tiote back we'll start winning again.
