  1. I had the Cabaye/Ben Arfa dilemma as well. Went for HBA, so everyone else should probably go Cabaye.
  2. I don't think that even comes into it anymore, I can't ever envisage a situation where we accept a big money offer for a player and they stubbornly refuse to leave the club as a matter of principle. I bet that's only happened about 6 times in the history of football TBH.
  3. That settles it then. Wouldn't mind seeing what sort of excuse you'd bring up this time. What are you on about?
  4. Is it? Seems to me he's getting slaughtered on a daily basis.
  5. surely we have learnt from that mistake, exchange grant holt for danny graham and we have problems again Probably, the question is if we have any players to correct it.
  6. Well, let's get it in perspective. He hasn't played well for Liverpool but he's still a Premier League footballer and so he's already made it into the top 1% of players in the world. It's not like everyone who kicks a ball gets massive money. I do agree the wages are mental, but the business in general is mental too.
  7. A lot, lot better I would think. I really like Anelka, and I can understand why players would take the mega-money in China when they have the chance, but I just wish they wouldn't.
  8. Think we have to manage his recovery on its own terms, if he's ready he's ready, or not, regardless of other injuries.
  9. It's been a uniquely weird and hilarious few days around here.
  10. Hmmm, that is a bit picky from Simpson like. The main thing in the end is being paid which will happen so can't see what the problem is Surely that depends on exactly what the issue is, which we don't know.
  11. One cheap defender and one proper one would be amazing, even that is probably expecting a bit much.
  12. Freely admit I thought Colo was poor when he first arrived, he looked very shaky and error-prone IMO. Obviously I might have been wrong, but that's what I thought. We did have a history of signing awful CBs as well, which didn't help.
  13. It's a fair point really, it's mainly the elite and the City that he's pissed off in the past. Problem is in football the elite (agents, players, other owners) are inextricably linked to the normal people (fans) so you can't really correct or change your behaviour towards one without affecting the other quite badly. Still think Ashley has it just about right in terms of finances, the only hard thing to get used to is the player sales aspect. But then at least we have players someone might want to buy now.
  14. I like him, don't want him to leave. But if he wants more money then I don't blame him for looking elsewhere. Whether or not we should up his wages or whatever to keep him depends on too many factors to judge really.
  15. I'd want him to be a lot more accurate than Martins really, you never knew where the ball was going to end up.
  16. He better not have any of the Martins about him to be honest... except maybe the shot power.
  17. It would be suicide to let Simpson go in January unless we have at least two defenders lined up to come in. And since we need a CB I doubt we'll be singing two fullbacks as well.
