I agree Shak. Which is why I think it's so important to keep him. Especially now, as by all accounts he has a foil alongside him in Cabaye, who likes to show for the ball and play a passing game. As no disrespect to Nolan, but at times Tiote was doing the work of two men, and never really had an outlet alongside him. So this might see him cut out those mistakes he made, when he held onto the ball for too long at times. Sure Tiote will pick up far less bookings this season with more movement around him.

He was in pretty great form to be fair.

Is Brazilian club football relatively rich then? Must be I suppose.

One of my favourite Shola moments (or "Shoments") is the side-foot finish versus Chelsea in the Carling Cup. Just ambling forward, sumptuous stepover and stroke it in the corner. His celebration was also immense.

Yep, we need alternative shorts somewhere in the repertoire.
-
Well I'm not so sure, the money could be put to good use throughout the club. Wouldn't sell him at any price.

Wasn't aware it was ignited once already TBH.

Only Colocho can explain. Happy to admit I phrased it cautiously because I thought some people wouldn't agree that Jonas keeps the ball well.
-
Jonas doesn't give possession away that much at all, except when he crosses it.

I don't think we've stopped looking for a striker because of Neil Taylor like.
-
I thought the opposite, like it much more now I've seen it worn.

Spot on, what we've lacked for years is the sort of central midfield we've hopefully found in Tiote and Cabaye. Really looking forward to seeing how we set up. HBA is also pretty excellent on the ball, and Jonas is actually alright most of the time.

The shirts look much better on, especially the away one.

Just realised it was because he's watching the 3D footage.

Good point. However , he does think the world of Glass smasher, Lassy basher Andy Carroll. He loves Joey Barton as well, both him and Carroll have done far worse things than Ranger.

You can't buy Tiote with earthly currency man.

I love how Carragher is called "The Voice". Sounds better than "The Whinge" I suppose.

How did we do last season versus historic numbers of goals, any idea? Seemed an unusually free-scoring season to me. Irrelevant if we've improved as an attacking force from last year, no? Well, not entirely, if last seasons players scored more than could be normally expected, then backing the new team to outdo them might be silly, even if the new players are better. I see your point though, FWIW I've no idea if we'll score more or less goals.

Because Lee Ryder is clearly talking bullshit! Very likely.

Fair play! What I meant was that I don't object to some of the money being used to reduce debt and/or cover our regular losses that are making that debt increase. I'm not saying we have to immediately stop spending anything and sell players to clear the debt right now, but the overall situation has to be taken into account. FWIW I don't like disagreeing with so many people on this issue, as a fan I want as many quality signings as possible. I guess the reason is partly because I like seeing us get a bargain and I also like looking at the bigger picture of how the club is being run.

Find it hard to believe nobody will pay £9m for The Zog, just doesn't make sense.

I never said we were completely skint. I'll judge actual player sales on their merits, the thing I get annoyed about is people revelling in the assumption that every good player was leaving after Carroll went.
-
I don't think the Carroll deal should be judged in hindsight based on what happens to the team afterwards. Let's face it, we sold him because the club needs income and the deal was too good to turn down. That's it. Any other reason is just an attempt to justify an unpopular move. Did you say this at the time? All I remember when we sold Carroll was how great the money was, how great our squad would be after spending the money, and how the sale was completely justified because of it. How things have changed. Honestly can't remember, happy to be proved a hypocrite! FWIW I was gutted by the Carroll sale initially, as was pretty much everyone. I never believed the "the money will all be reinvested in the team" line, and I never thought that was necessarily important anyway. I still feel sorry he isn't here, but I accept that the money was too good to turn down for a guy with so little experience and such a volatile character. As you know I'm not against some of the money being used for other purposes.
