He's been a massive twat, yes. From memory though, since he said way back last year that he'd changed and that he'd give his all at Newcastle I don't recall reading a bad word about him. If he played for anybody else he'd be the biggest cunt in football but he plays for us so I'm more inclined to give him a break. I'm not arsed if he's managed not to be a bell end for 12 months. In that time he's hardly played. I'd love to get rid of him tbh. If he gets himself fit and stays out of trouble he could be a good player for us. I'm hopeful, not expectant. Barton is our best midfielder by a mile, assuming he can actually play some games.
  2. It's bollocks anyway, every club has rejected a load of great players.
  3. Linked with Bob Bradley today too. Both potentially brilliant appointments. I'd love to see Bradley in the Premiership. Fulham are quite American anyway.
  4. very, very surprising - he misses so many chances it's untrue, if we were discussing with him i'd be dubious...can't see him flourishing in this league but roy has made worse players than him look good i suppose I agree, he's a brilliant player but he has never, ever, ever been a good finisher. Doesn't have the composure to be prolific anywhere. Could just be paper talk. There are also some fears that the Liverpool board are signing him specifically for the shirt sales. Yeah, but that's what everyone says about every player from China/Japan/Korea. You have to sell a lot of football shirts to make £50,000 a week over 5 years.

Barton and Gosling is so much better than Nolan and Smith it's ridiculous.
  6. I'm trying to ignore/accept it, but it's spoiling more and more games for me now. More so on TV where it gets replayed in slow motion... live games are still OK.
  7. I don't think Dyer's a 'waster' or anything like that. I believe he'd have been a top, top player if he hadn't suffered from so many injuries. He has pace, he can dribble, he gets his head up from time to time.
  8. It isn't a country in any legal sense though, is it? I thought it was just a region (in modern times).
  9. I'd be all for giving him a fresh start, but I'm not sure he has the mentality to take it.
  10. The headline "Hughton hopeful on Xisco" doesn't really suggest he hopes he'll leave. Odd bit of writing there.
  11. I thought on a loan move he would continue to get his current wages and Celtic would just pay his current club. Obviously not.

Plenty said the same about Milner. They were right.
  13. The danger is that it's already become accepted. Commentators and pundits hardly mention it... unless it's to say a player should have gone down.
  14. Not really, we want him out and he isn't worth anything.
  15. Plus he'll probably get the next 10 predictions wrong.
  16. So it was really Casillas's fault then.
  17. The acting and cheating is reaching critical levels now, it's totally spoiling my enjoyment of football. The rule should be that you have to stay on your feet unless you physically can't... not that you can go down every time a hand brushes your shirt.

Don't worry, his word is his bond.
  19. Yes, well for example; 50/50 in one game means a 50% chance of getting it right. 50/50 in the next game means 50% chance of getting it right. Chance of getting both right is 50% of 50% = 25%. Say he predicted 8 matches correctly (more than that in reality). 50%-25%-17.5%-8.75%-4.37%-............ You have to admit, it's pretty impressive. It's lucky/rare, that's entirely different.
  20. I know how the feel re: a poor Webb decision. It hurts. he's still a very good referee. Not in my opinion. He got to referee the biggest game on the entire planet in the last four years, you must be wrong a little bit. I could list a whole host of errors he has made but i won't. Its my opinion and i stick with it. Was poor in the Prem last season, yes he was good up until tonight in the WC i'll admit. Howay man. It was never going to be easy, he handled tonight as best he could. The only real mistake I saw was the Elia freekick, and I'll give him that as he's only human. Both De Jong and Puyol should have went. I think he's been good this tournament, but judging each match on in its merits I thought he was far too worried about it being a final and gave a little bit of tolerance and leeway for it being a football match, when he should have treat it like a football match, with some leeway and tolerance given because its the final. You can see it from his point of view though, he didn't want to spoil the game early and he wanted to keep it flowing. All fair enough.
  21. I don't think he has been, actually. OK, I'll review the DVDs.
  22. Sneijder was poor, especially those shots he took on. He's been great up to now though.
  23. Who's Ramos got down his shorts?
