  1. Don't want to poke anyone but got to say I was one of the people annoyed by how regular the Ashley chanting was going on. My opinion is simply that during the game we should be trying to create a supportive atmosphere to help the players as much as possible ('supporting the team', I guess you could call it!). I might have been unlucky though, as I had a couple of complete mongs sat behind me, I suppose some people just go to the game to complain anyway... they were determined to criticise evey mistake to the Nth degree and hardly chirped up at all when something good happened. I see the 90 minutes of the match as a great chance to forget the off field bollocks and just enjoy supporting NUFC for a bit.
  2. I would honestly rather just throw in the reserves and the youngsters, give them a chance. Let's face it, on the evidence of the West Brom match we aren't going down again, so let's see what happens.
  3. I wish people would stop talking about Mike Ashley making a profit - how many times does it need to be said that he has put his own money into the club, taken nothing out and will end up with a significant loss (in all likelihood)?
  4. Far too soon to say LuaLua is a 'headless chicken' surely? A bit of stereotyping going on there? I don't think Jonas is one either TBH, his end product is dodgy but he doesn't lose the ball through not looking up that much.
  5. I'm really surprised the amount of key players that Reading have let go. Obviously without Coppell they must have been difficult to hold on to. Can everyone watch Shane Long and let me know if you think he runs like a robot?
  6. Never understood loyalty bonuses that are paid when a player leaves. Surely a 'loyalty' bonus should be a reward for staying the length of your contract?
  7. In all seriousness, I'm really happy with the away kit now, it looks good on the pitch IMO.
  8. I just got two for £20 each in the Leazes corner (had to add on the price of a train from London like!)
  9. Too harsh, he kept the pressure on West Brom far more than any other player IMO.
  10. I was really heartened by the game yesterday... I think we played a lot better than the majority of last season. We need a specialist RB and some pace in midfield, and up front, but then we knew that already. Would like to see Ranger given more minutes from now on, and also Barton start ahead of Nolan. There might be an argument for throwing in Kadar instead of Colo as well. Smith actually played pretty well I thought, I'm not normally a fan of effort over ability but he gave a lot for the team and that's exactly what we need in our current situation.
  11. Think he could get a better club than Hull TBH.
  12. I know all of these sales were inevitable and probably necessary, but it's fucking depressing at the moment

  14. Wish I wasn't so far away so I could leave a tribute... will donate instead.
  15. The things I admire about Bobby are nothing to do with football really. A gentleman, compassionate, positive, noble, dignified... just an absolute example to us all.
  16. If only all of us good show his positivity and unflappable bravery in the face of adversity, an example to everyone of how to live and die. Welling up properly at the BBC stuff
  17. Reflective silence is always better than applause IMO, there's a time for celebration but not before mourning.
  18. Yep, he belongs a little to Newcastle, Ipswich, Fulham, Barca and the rest... loved wherever he went and by whoever he met. Shows that nice guys can achieve a lot.
  19. Sorry he had to see such a period of turmoil.
  20. Just about summed it up TRon and TT, no surprises he's off really, and can't blame him either.
  21. You deserve to get sacked if you browse the forum when working Fuck, do you?
  22. Not sure which is more negative, if it's true or it's not true.
  23. You're probably right, but not sure I want to tell him to 'fuck off' based on quotes from a 'close friend'.
  24. It won't be. We're talking about Ashley et al remember. FFS, he hasn't taken any money out of the club. To suggest every penny that comes in from transfers should go out on transfers is stupid, the bottom line is what counts. The bottom line is we have one less striker. Way to switch angles on me. My focus is on getting back to the premier next season. At the moment there is now less chance of that happening, obviously if we buy a replacement who can do the business for less money then that's great, but if and when that happens I'll change my view accordingly. Fine, but I was responding about finances. If money wasn't an issue obviously I would rather keep every decent player we have, but sadly it is.
