  1. Think you contradicted yourself there a bit, he's not done much in the last few years but he belongs in the Champions League?
  2. Well, it's easy to be loyal to your employer when you can't get a better job.
  3. I feel they're probably making them to score brownie points with the public.
  4. Have you just made that up though? We don't anything about the details of the bids or anything like that, how can we say whether or not Ashley is being unrealistic? Ashley's tenure to date tells us he is an arrogant prick who believes he can do what he wants and get what he wants. The man believed we could succeed without investing in the first 11, that he could appoint KK and then fuck him off without expecting a reaction, let Hughton get on with it, expect managers to fall over themselves to come, appoint JK.......etc Are you suggesting we give Ashley any benefit of doubt? I don't know, everyone can make their own mind up. I'm not going to get into Ashley's corner on anything, but it seems to me that he would be desperate to get out. I don't have any evidence of that, it just seems to make sense.

  6. They don't have to say anything, just get the club sold. Exactly, that's what I mean. If the Chronicle or The Mag think that Ashley is realistically going to give details about what is happening they're living in a dreamworld. Sadly all we can do is wait and hope something happens as soon as possible. No we don't have to wait and hope, the local media can certainly make things very uncomfortable for Ashley to string everyone along and contemplate jsut letting the club drift to oblivion. Knowing there is a public storm on the verge of being whipped up give Ashley a bit more incentive to take the best offer and get lost. Surely Ashley is already desperate to get out though? I wouldn't have thought we can make him sell any faster than he already wants to.

  8. ...a quality player who doesn't want to play for a joke club any more? This basically what makes me say I'll just wait and see. I don't blame any player for wanting out of the club at the moment, I imagine most of them would rather be elsewhere.
  9. It's all waffle until we see who stays and who goes.
  10. Always thought 'lack of communication' was a red herring TBH, what are they meant to say? "We're trying to sell the club, we haven't managed it yet", we already know that.
  11. For some reason I'm inclined to believe the club on this one... I never got the feeling PG were as serious as they made out.
  12. Aye, we definitely were linked with him after he destroyed us in the UEFA.
  13. Agreed. Torres doesn't seem to like playing with a partner either by the way.
  14. I would feel terrible as a player if I knew ordinary fans were forking out for my wages. I know we pay players wages indirectly (in a way) anyway, but that just feels a bit different.
  15. Can't remember Sunderland signing two or three of the best players in the world though.
  16. Although Arsenal are a class club, it seems Krul has a shout at pushing Harper out of team soon, his creaking bones can't go on forever. If that's the case he might be better off getting a prolonged first team spell. Wishful thinking maybe... I know if Arsenal came in for me I would be off like a shot.
  17. Yes, the way Ashley/LambsArse/Kinnear handled it was like making Newcastle look like a Victorian beggar trying to sell his good shoes for a tenth of the real price. Stomach churning, and summing life under Ashley perfectly. Although I'd still argue the Milner sale was a brilliant deal for us. (Not the thread to start this debate again though!)
  18. Imagine leaving Stoke to go and live in Monaco, it must be the best thing ever!
  19. As other people have said, it would be worse if they had turned up and overshadowed the day. We've got enough real things to criticise Ashley for without making up new ones.
  20. He wants to leave, he's made that clear, he's trying to sell. All any pointless boycotts are going to do is damage our club and make the situation worse, not to mention give the fuckers in the media more ammunition to ridicule Newcastle Utd.
  21. That's a good point actually, if we ever get sorted we might be relying on Shearer to pull in some favours with his premiership pals.
  22. We actually don't have that bad a record at selling people for decent prices, except Given.
  23. Hopefully these, living down south I always end up at more away games than home ones. Fulham was my fave though Reading QPR Watford Crystal Palace Nottm Forest Plymouth Peterborough
  24. In a weird way I might enjoy 'The Premiership' more now that we aren't in it. It'll be a bit like watching WWE... pure entertainment with no illusion of it meaning anything!
  25. Wow, that was like my thoughts were being printed on the screen, weird.
