I think globally, everyone except for the English media rates Sven very very highly, and he will pull of a few more transfer coups yet. I don't think we need to replace Dyer during this window, he didn't really have a position anyway. Will give Emre more chance to feature in a more attacking role. We shouldn't be looking at anything other than defenders for the next two weeks IMO.

Don't know much about him, but we have to realise Sven is a big attraction to players and has a lot of contacts, especially in Italy.

Agreed, they might have had an inside line of some sort that is rapidly disappearing, more so if and when Sheperd gets the boot. I suspect they haven't named the player because they don't know who it is.

What's the point of having a contract that says he 'wasn't free to sign for Newcastle', if he can sign and just pay a fine? I don't think this will make the 'predators step back' at all, it will just mean more quality youngsters break their contracts and pay off the compensation.

It's insane, but if that is Chelsea's wage 'structure' then Terry should be at or very near the top of it. Serves them right for paying way over the odds for Ballack and Shevchenko (2 players they didn't need) in the first place. I agree though, I'd be annoyed if I was Drogba.
