Admirably succinct my good man!

Michael Carrick doesn't have much of an engine, but he gets himself in the right positions and uses the ball well. Very impressed by Guthrie so far, looking forward to the Bolton game a lot more after today.
-
Aye, we're all guilty of a bit of hyperbole. In my defence today, I'm exaggerating on purpose because I'm so happy about that result.
-
Very pleased today obviously, was just so beautiful to go to Old Trafford and fight, take the game to them and score. Honestly, if we'd lost by the odd goal I would still have been content, it's just such a difference in attitude/approach. Allardyce was an expert in telling players what not to do and how cautious they need to be, Keegan is a master of getting them to imagine what they can achieve.

Going Home: Theme Of The Local Hero is back for good

Always liked this post. Hell yeah -
They're getting a solid, experienced defender for a small fee. They should be pissing themselves. He's not superb but I'd rather have him here, than have an extra £2m in the bank and have to promote Taylor to automatic first choice. I completely agree, only mitigating factor might be whatever has gone on behind the scenes. And also who might yet arrive. I'm still leaning towards it being a bad sale, but we'll see.

Seconded I had my doubts when we announced the return of the mack, but he's putting them all to rest one at a time. If Faye is disrupting things behind the scenes (as is hinted at) and/or KK doesn't rate him then I've no problem at all.

From Stoke's point of view though he's a good signing, might just help them avoid embarassment a la Derby.

It's just like I'll never forget the first time I came out of the entrance onto the stand at SJP, floodlights on and I'd never seen anything like it... felt amazing. Going Home has the same effect, just so many associations with great times. Even more so now that KK is back again. -

If it matters to you that much, then I hope you a great time. It does and I will, not embarassed to admit I love Local Hero. -

Come off it man, the power of music and the associations between particular songs and events is obvious. I can't wait for the Bolton game even more now, it's never been the same since they got rid of that song. -
If he's failed a medical surely it must be mental instability for wanting to join Stoke?

Is it possible/wise for the club to give the press nothing whatsoever?

All they're doing differently is not commenting on speculation as much and leaking names of players we're interested in. When something's official, they're confirming it through official channels. -
I'm a bit sad to see him go, but to be honest if we get a replacement in pretty much any average to good premiership defender is equal to Faye.
-
A lot happier now KK has spoken about some more potential signings if Faye and Shola depart.
-
I suppose so. There's obviously two schools of thought about MO, I'm just a natural optomist - it almost seems like some people are hoping for our players to fail so they can wallow.
-
We could well have been relegated last season if it wasn't for Owen. He certainly hasn't delivered what we expected over the 4 years, but I'd def say the trend is in the right direction - i.e. he's getting better, and less injured recently.

Fabricio Coloccini signed from Deportivo La Coruña on 5 year deal
AyeDubbleYoo replied to Cronky's topic in Football
From that it looks like this is the right time to sign him, just when he's maturing and developing consistency. -
There's a massive surprise. Man U over estimating the time off for a player, must be a first And are these the legendary Jedi mind games Manure fans and the press think Fergie possesses. Not having Sky is great, means I haven't heard Fergie talking for years.

I think Warnock is pretty unlikely to be honest, Ince is having enough problems winning over the fans/players without letting one of their key players walk away. Though I thought we'd never sell Faye to Stoke, so what do I know?
