  1. Not very. You can mention the words 'black' and 'man' in a sentence without it being racist. I agree with you there.
  2. I think you're being a bit harsh on the recuritment team, we've made some good additions already, and I'm sure we've tried for even better. The fact is we're not that attractive a prospect at the moment, and Ashley isn't going to stump up stupid fees and wages to attract players. Spurs are clearly on the up, with Ramos a well respected european manager. Players under 25 probably haven't heard of Keegan. Man City had Sven's extensive player scrapbook, we have a manager who just came back into the game. We'll get back to where we were, but it will take a few of these 'decent' rather than 'amazing' transfer windows.
  3. Fair point, it's ridiculous to say at this point who has been more successful in the transfer market, Sunderland have done OK but so have we.
  4. Really rate Muamba, surprised he didn't hold out for a better club. Maybe Bolton will go down and we will be able to move on again I suppose...
  5. Class act, let's hope this season is just as good for him...
  6. Do Spurs know that spending money isn't actually going out of fashion?
  7. Sentanta saying Colo was seen in Toni & Guy in Monument Mall, but they refused to touch the hair in case he lost all of his strength.
  8. Yours look horrid atm. Captain going, signed 2 yank GK's & picked up ginger cockney. I'm happy with the keepers, very. And Sidwell. The problem is that we still need another 5 or 6 decent players to stand still, and it just isn't happening. We've got 2 fit defenders at the club, and one of those is Zat Knight. And Stephen Carr is still unattached. Fuck Barry, the sooner the fat arsed cunt gets out of the club, the better. In fantasy football Villa's squad does look a bit worrying like, in some games they only have about 3 defenders listed.
  9. Eric Cantona, like it. Not a big fan of autobiographies, but do fancy getting the SBR one.
  10. Selling Alan Smith will negate the benfit of signing Coloccini? mackems.gif Well marking Smudger in training would boost his confidence. But then again, it would threaten his legs, so not sure what to think.
  11. Has it fuck, we can't stand the guy's constant running about like a headless chicken and never ending string of yellow cards.
  12. Whether we have Emre in the squad or not makes no difference sadly, the guy never gets on the pitch anyway. Agree we need better set pieces and a bit of sparkle in the midfield... let's hope the club are working overtime to solve this problem before the window closes.
  13. If we could get £6m I would do a little dance of joy.
  14. I think I'll get in ahead of the flood of replies and sum them up, yes we would sell all of the wastes of skin like Smudger... the sooner the better. On a serious note, I reckon the youngsters would do just as good a job, if not better.
  15. The video's funny, and what they're saying is right, but the truth is most of the games I've played without refs have been better than the ones that had them! Seriously though, the refs have the power to demand the respect of players. If from the start of the season, starting at the top level, they started to apply the dissent, diving and other related rules properly and starting booking and sending off players, they would fall into line soon enough.
  16. Never really understood this argument to be honest. Aye, he's still getting paid - but do you not think he'd rather be playing? It's not like he has a job he'd rather not be doing.
  17. Awesome player, if Everton get him for less than £8m they're doing us.
  18. Will be pleased when it is tied up, hopefully it's not delaying any other potential deals. The consensus seems to be he is a quality defender, we could do with one of those.
  19. I bet it's great fun for him though, to be able to buy a football club as your plaything must be pretty sweet. And don't forgot he's not a lifelong fan, so he doesn't feel the pain as much!
  20. Sunderland's first team is still behind ours, but I think they've had a good transfer window compared to what they might have expected. Malbranque is a good capture, and probably Diouf and Tanio as well. I would say they'll definitely stay up again, the only doubt is Kenwyn Jones' injury, bearing in mind how vital he was to them last season.
  21. True, we have: The best defence we've had for ages (if a little short of cover) The best manager we've had for ages The best owner we could hope for (ignoring the constant tabloid nonsense) And importantly, we haven't been as inactive in the transfer market as everyone seems to be saying, in fact we have been busy relative to a lot of other clubs. Yes, this season will be difficult and we may well finish mid-table again... but we are moving in the right direction. If you expect it to happen overnight you're in for a shock. 5 years of decline can't be corrected in one summer.
  22. I would chuckle if Arshavin starts the season with Zenit and Ronaldo with Man Utd, after the shit they were both spouting about moving on.
  23. Ridiculously negative, even by the standards of this site.
