  1. 'Course you can't understand it Nev, you utter tool 8)
  2. I agree the conducting of this transfer window has been a disaster, but I don't think it's fair to put it all down to Roeder. Surely what is going on with takeovers etc. has bred uncertainty, and Fred is the one holding the purse strings.
  3. You're right we can't, but it seems as good as any of our existing scouting policies. In fact, maybe we bought Luque because of PES, he's useful on that!
  4. Is he still good on PES6? He was the bollocks on 5. Yeah, I think he's worth a punt. Is being run close for a starting place by Carlos Rodriguez, who's actually more of a winger (but I like v attacking fullbacks!) I hadn't heard of him in real life when I bought him though, had to do a google search to find out who he was. Another tip, Ryan Babel, by the age of 26 he becomes unstoppable! (Sorry, a bit off topic there)
  5. He is my first choice left-back on Pro Evo, is quality after a couple of seasons improvment! Excellent getting forward and solid in defence. Not sure that has any relation to his real world ability though
  6. Doesn't really make sense to try to stop any players playing for their countries IMO, the effect on motivation would be serious. Best to let him build up some international experience to improve him as a player.

    George Gillett

He is the best a man can get though... :-\
  8. The loss of Terry, and to a (slightly) lesser extent Gallas, has been massive. If Gallas had been there now he could have slotted in at centre back to cover Terry's injury. I don't understand why Kenyon/Roman wouldn't just forget their own agendas and let Mourinho get on with the job. He was on course to win them the title again, and probably the champions league eventually. As much as I'd love to have unlimited spending power as a manager, if I wasn't allowed to employ it how I saw fit then I'd be off. I think Man Utd will have enough to see out the title this season.
  9. It's not even about him 'fighting for his place' either really. As long as Ashley Cole is fit he will play. Simple as that I would think. Barring some truly horrific form Bridge hasn't got a chance. So if he wants 1st team football, he has to leave.
  10. It was a real pleasure to see Vieira, although he didn't play that well on that occasion.

    Robben

Top player though, i'd have him here in a heartbeat. Same goes for public enemy no.1 C.Ronaldo, ie. two footed, can hurt teams on either side of the park. Whether or not footballers are 'scum, shitheads, cheats..... and the other names thrown around' is irrelevant in my book. It's all about putting out a set of footballers with ability, and getting the results. It's not about throwing on a bunch of 'good lads' with a commendable amount of ethics to match. I partly agree, but I don't think the fact they're cheaters is irrelevant. If Robben was here I would enjoy his ability, but would still be sickened by his diving antics.
  12. Lads please, show some festive spirit!

    Shay Given

I honestly believe that we would have gone very close to going down without Shay last season. Keeper is one of the few positions where other premiership fans must thing 'I was we had their guy'. Shay is a legend and we're lucky to have him.
  14. Very foggy in berkshire, not sure about central London.
  15. I think most of us would be amazed if we won any silverware, I'd nearly die of shock....
  16. Not a very nice guy then  Good to see other fans are standing up to these people though.

    AGM

Although I imagine he'll do alright out of it, he won't be giving his shares away!
  18. Riise's not wearing a costume, cheater...
  19. Think I'll be in the same position sitting in the Reading fans when we play them in the new year. Unless I can get someone to get me an away ticket, I'll have a go nearer the time.
  20. I think we are entitled to make 'sweeping judgements' of the kind that certain words 'are considered offensive'. This isn't an unreasonable assumption, words have accepted meanings and connotations beyond the literal, and while they aren't concrete they can be known and discussed. I think you're right that we shouldn't just focus on the words though. I have mentioned already in this thread that I consider the intention behind the statement/word/chant to be equally important. Sadly I think the intention here was all wrong.
  21. It sounded amazing, wish I'd been there. Going to Spurs when I'm home for christmas though, so hopefully that will be as good. Although I don't really care at the moment, as long as the result is right.
  22. XVentura and BlueStar, you're both right in suggesting that the 'plight' of white Britains is often overstated and a lot of racists and nutters campaign under the banner of being pro-English. All I was hinting at was that it's OK for white people to be proud of their own culture (even though we've done a lot of pretty inexcusable things in history). I hope I didn't come across as trying to align myself the likes of EDP and the BNP - who on the surface can sometimes appear to be quite respectable but are actually totally vile.
  23. I totally agree with your whole post but regarding the bit in bold, does anyone actually realize that 88% of Britain is still a 'white' Britain? There's only a 12% minority!! Problems with minorities are not as big as many newspapers make it out to be. Some people really need to examine facts before spouting off shit. I do, yes, but not sure about 'most people'. That's the problem with a lot of people getting most of their information from sensationalist media. The fear of crime is also a lot worse than actual crime figures (even though everything isn't perfect obviously). I wasn't saying I agreed that British culture was threatened, just trying to address some peoples' apparent concerns. (I know you weren't suggesting I was!)
