Why, what are you doing then? -
They've got some cheek like. Take over a top football club, laden it with debt and run it down to the point where it needs to be sold immediately to avoid administration and likely relegation... then claim damages for yourself. Incredible.
-
Anyone managed by Allardyce needs to go at the top of the list. With Redknapp a close second.
-
The players can be as determined as they like, but if they can't win home games they are not good enough - determination is great but without the necessary skills it is useless. Cream always rises to the top.... Yeah, but that would be a criticism of the players... Hughton can only work the players he has.
-
I wasn't aware the PL actually ever applied the fit and proper person test.
-
They're introducing a late substitute though, don't count them out yet!
-
I think it's more likely to be a proof of concept for Ashley's mad scheme to sell ground sponsorship and naming rights. He's hoping that when companies see it in action, they will want in.
-
If anyone seriously calls for a change of manager in the next few weeks, they need to be sectioned immediately.
-
actually painted? God. I've bought some fantastic aerial pictures of SJP over the years, such a shame there's gonna be none for a while now. And if it's still there next season, aerial shots used on TV on football shows are gonna have it in. Ugh. I don't know for sure, maybe they're using some sort of adhesive panels.
-
I think it's worse because it looks to be actually physically painted on the roof - raping our beautiful stadium.
-
Can't remember seeing that in the planning application. Can't see it from the street though, that's a minor blessing.
-
Thinking about what death row inmates did to get there usually makes people sick as well. The last thing this board needs is a death penalty argument though. Ha, yeah I know, sorry for the off topic!
-
How much is helicopter hire and a large amount of white paint?
-
I was thinking about getting one of the mugs, just for the sheer size. But presumably they're made of such cheap shite that the tea is cold after about 3 sips anyway?
-
Thinking about the death penalty makes me a bit physically sick... it's fucking barbaric.

Think you've got a good point about clubs wanting some form of compensation for cheating picked up after the game. It would be a disadvantage of the video review system. I still think it's better than where we are now though, and it would eventually lead to a massive reduction in cheating that would benefit everyone. It would have to be sold clearly like that, and the limitations would have to be admitted and accepted from the start.
-
I think the problem with the straight red for any offence is that it makes the referees much less likely to call it. You already see that with lack of sending off for 'last man' fouls. You might be right on the extra deterrent though, I'm not sure what would happen there. I would like to see far more yellows given for sure, but it is very difficult to pick up on in real time, and refs are reluctant to accuse people of cheating, for obvious reasons. I know the other team doesn't benefit immediately from retrospective punishment , but in the long run everyone will benefit from cleaning up the game. Will also have a "name and shame" aspect that might be a deterrent.
-
I think we're at the point where we need a weekly video review panel to punish dangerous play and divers retrospectively.
-
Don't quite understand the problem with wanting to stop diving and wanting to stop dangerous play. Both are problems for the game. I want to see clean, technical tackling... and shoulder to shoulder... I just don't want to see two-footed leg breakers.
-
Because of the absolute magic they produce on the pitch.
-
Yeah, but don't they do the ice pack thing just so he looks injured?
-
One billion dollars! [/dr evil]

Don't see how anyone can think they were lucky, NUFC fans of all people should understand what it's like having shite owners. If anything, their ownership situation was worse than ours, as it plunged the club into massive debt. They're only lucky in that Liverpool is a big name club that appealed to a buyer... and that the sale went through (probably) in time to save them from relegation. They are still miles away from where they were, and the last couple of years have been a nightmare for them.

Also, with Crouch playing we need to have wingers on the correct sides so that they can get to the byline and get crosses in. Cutting inside is way overrated in the modern game.
