Despite what I've said about him being shit... I'd like to see him get a testimonial and I'd probably go! I'm not sure why, he's just likeable in a weird way. His main problem is his personality I reckon. He doesn't seem a confident or aggressive lad really... will always be a bit of a hinderance in top level sport.

I see want to see one of those classic transfer photos ASAP please, Hughton with his arm round Tiote and Ben Arfa inside SJP.

Only 1000?

It is hilarious that we started at this point in the first place basically. 300+ pages of chat later, back where we started. Don't get me wrong though, it was good chat.

Bit random. See what you mean though, he's a terrible footballer and probably about League 1 quality in all honesty. It's one of life's great mysteries how he's made a career at Newcastle Utd for as long as he has.

If my post set this off, it's the first time I've ever mentioned it. I just meant that there aren't many black or mixed race managers succeeding at the top level. I would like to see him do it. I know he doesn't represent or speak for all people of his racial background... but it's always good for people to have role models.

Because it might work and we'll survive?

Truth. This is why the loan with purchase after so many games is a great deal. We can take a look at him and decide. It's not like we're the Keegan team signing Asprilla along with a load of brilliant players. We need some invention and some real attacking flair. Hopefully Hughton's quiet manner will help settle him a bit. And he stays away from Andy and Joey!
-
Apparently we're signing that Tiote from Twente and going for Ben Arfa as well. Will never happen!

Wolves v Newcastle United (3 on the bounce for me, maybe)

I think coming off the back off the Villa result and an immense performance from Carroll, we should be looking to go and get a point from Wolves at least. We've got every chance of getting a couple of goals. -
Having a young, black, homegrown manager succeed in the Premiership would be brilliant... I'm beginning to think Hughton can do it. The reservations I had about him are starting to ebb away, he doesn't seem to have any favourites, he's bonded the dressing room, he's obviously communicating our needs well to the club in terms of signing. Could easily get much worse this season obviously, but bravo to the man so far.

Sorry for my english. It's not the same player, ben arfa is much better. He can be the future idol at newcastle No offence mate, and thanks for posting, but I don't think anyone outside of Newcastle realised how good Laurent Robert was. Robert it's good player but it's not the same talent that ben arfa. You will see.... Merci beaucoup, c'est tres interessant. J'espere tu a raison! Thats's it for my French!

Just watched this again on iPlayer. Pure class it was.

For all the selection dilemmas this will cause, two of the main things we needed was a strong midfielder with legs and athleticism, and some creativity in attack. Nice job this transfer window, have to say.

I can't man, it makes me vomit and shake uncontrollably.

Fuck, I missed page 100 Good news though, never thought this would happen
-
Going home now, hopefully by the time I get there we'll have wrapped up this deal. Or at least reached page 300.
-
They might have very different ideas about what is 'suitable', or an attacking midfielder might be considered more valuable to the club at the moment.
-
He just needs to get a Mourinho-style suit and he's sorted.
-
I would be more worried than happy if the club was sold again... strange but true.

Most of our games are going to be like this I guess, some surprising wins and some surprising defeats. Hard to call. I'd be content with any points, keep us ahead of the curve for the season. -
We need to slow down posting so he signs on page 300, take a break people.
