  1. I don’t really think of a rivalry existing at all TBH. When we’re near the top together, we compete, but that hasn’t been the case for many years. Hope it’s coming back, but it’s to do with league position rather than any relationship between the clubs.
  2. I’d probably add more ways to lose a player rather than less. Professional foul to stop a counter could be a 10 minute sin-bin, for example.
  3. I’d definitely look into reducing bans, because I think sitting out one match is usually enough. But I can’t see the logic in not having red cards.
  4. Not sure what Jonas has to do with it
  5. Grealish is wildly underrated like, it’s really weird Might be his hair, it is a bit shit.
  6. I don’t believe in game management at all, they should just apply the rules like a robot IMO. The humanity comes in understanding the game and how things happen, but it shouldn’t extend to things like ‘can’t be giving out yellow cards too early’ and all that.
  7. I think better communication would help a lot TBH. Clear hand signals, tannoy announcements and big screen graphics the instant a check is in process. On the decision, on-field referee comes to centre circle on camera and mic, and explains in 15 seconds what the offence was and the rule that is being used. I want this kind of communication much more than any kind of TV witch hunt after the fact.
  8. Forgot to change my team, ended up with only 5 players
  9. No way we're signing him.
  10. Do you know who was right?
  11. I don’t really agree, I just think the culture of football is to have a go at referees. Almost regardless of what they actually do. Of course they do some mad things and make some mistakes, and those should be addressed. But overall the assumption should be that they are trying to get it right.
  12. Think you need to be a bit careful with this kind of thing. I agree refs should have to make a call during the game and explain what the rule which applies. I would put them on mic for 20 seconds to do this. But I don’t see the benefit to making them come out after the game and face a grilling. The basic premise should be that the ref is acting the best he can and deserves respect associated with his role. Ideally the ref should be anonymous and not really noticed.
  13. Ah right, sorry I didn’t see the first half.
  14. Also nothing to do with the officials since the decision was 100% correct.
  15. I don't fully understand why British clubs don't have ultras... maybe we're too British to get involved in that kind of thing. TBF it's not really fair to compare our crowds to only the loudest few thousand of theirs. We don't have a mechanism to get all the rowdy lads in one place.
  16. Where do you watch games back... record them yourself?
  17. Keep him in the job as punishment.
  18. Fairly normal set of PL fixtures innit? The three away games in a row is a bastard, admittedly.
  19. It would work like that, they just decided he didn't deliberately play it (lol).
  20. We don’t know that though, do we? They didn’t explain. I’m just saying there’s a line in the rules about instinctive actions that can make it not offside. They showed the screenshot on Sky last night.
  21. Forgot the Man City game was on.
  22. But the point is someone still has to judge what is ‘obvious’, which is another subjective call.
  23. I don’t think so, if you let the first defender off then it’s offside, because the presence of Longstaff is clearly interfering in the next action (the second attempted clearance). I’m not saying it’s right but I can only assume it’s the instinctive nature of Felipe’s action that they’ve focused on.
