This is so amateurish it’s unbelievable. Football is a billion dollar industry run like a secret club you made up in infant school.
-
Street football 5 a-side, like on FIFA Remove the average teams, why not remove the average players.
-
That's the thing, the financial problems are due to a culture of excessive spending. The clubs have vast incomes.
-
If they try and design their own streaming platform or something, it will be disastrously shit.
-
You won't be able to watch the Premier League anymore either TBH, it'll be killed stone dead. Unless the clubs are kicked out.
-
According to a graph on the BBC, Madrid's revenue has gone from around 700m to around 600m during covid. With similar relative drops for other clubs. That shouldn't cause an existential threat to your business, surely? Seems like football clubs are just really badly managed, and overspend for no good reason other than the culture they themselves have established.

I didn't know we had anyone running social media. Impressed.
-
I doubt it. Nobody involved in this is capable of producing any slick content or marketing.
-
It doesn't matter
-
It’s seems incredibly incompetent if they’ve moved ahead with this launch without some back room or legal advice that they can get what they want. If it’s just a punt, it’s crazy.
-
Just saying the same thing
-
I agree with Steve Parish, these are truly strange times.
-
Or the PL will back down and they will get what they want.
-
Of course, there’s probably about 20 people involved in total.

I kept saying through all the ownership dramas that everyone has had. No Newcastle fans should get satisfaction out of Sunderland’s farcical owners. No fan of any other club should laugh at Mike Ashley stealing Newcastle United. The whole point is, it could easily be your club next... every fan is now vulnerable to and dependent on the whims of a tiny handful of rich people for the enjoyment of their cultural pastime. The thing itself is criminal, every fan should have been together against it for years.

It’s not like the Liverpool on the pitch tonight are anything to do with the super league idea.
-
It’s really sad seeing those fans - just cannon fodder and ordinary people that mean absolutely nothing to the men making the decisions.
-
You can’t really expect players not to play in it. Harry Kane isn’t going to do his job for half the salary just so he can play for England. Maybe the odd one, but I can’t see it happening a lot.
-
Yeah, but only because the broken structure of football means it’s the only way to compete.
-
Didn't all parties promise a fan-lead review already?
-
When I've watched Barca and Madrid etc, it's mainly been in their own league.
-
Actually quite nice to look at the league without those clubs. Lots of good clubs there.
-
I dunno, suppose I'm just into the routine of the Premier League and following it closely. Then when it's not on, I don't always bother with anything else. I'm really only watching the PL regularly because of lockdown and access to other people's online subscriptions.

I use Champions League weeks to take time off from watching football.
