  1. Mad thing to say. Bring on a guy who you know is your only hope. Inspired
  2. I’d only care if I knew the takeover was happening. As it is I don’t really feel anything because we’re most likely to just be battling relegation under Bruce again. Obviously on balance it’s better to stay up anyway, but it’s hard to know how important it is.
  3. That’s the beauty of football. You can either be a well organised team with an identity (Burnley) or you can have one player who can do everything himself (Newcastle). It’s the variety in the game we love so much.
  4. I’d love to know why Bruce bothers standing on the sideline instead of his nice comfy seat.
  5. I’m not sure the pundits know the rules, or what VAR is looking for.
  6. The opponent being massively off their game is our only chance really.
  7. A goal you’d never concede if you were in any way organised at the back. Everyone rushing back onto the line and nobody aware of where the Burnley players are. Desperation defending.
  8. Ben Mee has to be worried about dementia with the amount of easy headers he’s clearing.
  9. It’s funny how pundits are talking about just keeping a gap to Fulham, without looking at the fixtures we have to play next. Surely if you believe we need any more wins at all, one of them has to be today? Sure, Fulham might not win another game, but I wouldn’t want to be counting on that.
  10. Has Alexander-Arnold said he doesn’t want his full name anymore? Souness there (not the only one) just casually not bothering with it.
  11. Kind of funny, if you like that kind of thing.
  12. How long did it take Hearts fans to raise their £12m?
  13. Find it amazing that we can still criticise the fans of other clubs, or take any pleasure in other clubs having shit owners and/or getting relegated. Surely we know what all of that feels like by now, and it's very shit.
  14. I know, but they are shit at the moment. I wasn't saying it was likely, but it's one of the softer fixtures on paper.
  15. Yep, as much as players coming back is a positive for us, the fixtures are nearly impossible. Spurs was the other one we had a chance in. Maybe Arsenal I suppose, but not much else.
  16. Alex Hurst spoke very well about it on the TF podcast.
  17. I think this is an interesting one in regards to that argument, since it doesn't really do anything to improve the biggest problem at the club, which is Mike Ashley. It may well have a positive influence at the club in the long-term, but I don't think it's fair to say that people who don't like this idea shouldn't be allowed to criticise it. I personally like the idea, but I do think it's an extremely long shot. And it is also completely dependent on Mike Ashley not being the owner, which will resolve most of our problems in itself.
  18. How does it factor into people going to games?
  19. xG is a measure of how good the chances are basically, based on where the shot is from, angle, distance, foot vs head etc etc If you create lots of chances you can have a great xG but if your finishing is worse than the model suggests you'll obviously end up much worse off. And same with defending, you can concede lots of chances but have better saving than average. It's not really a measure of how 'good' a team you are, because finishing, saving, blocking etc are all part of that equation as well. It's just one measure to show how good the opportunities you have and concede are.
