Yeah it reminds me more of a wind breaker it's not thick.

I bought it at 45 love it but very loose fitting i went down to a small and usual a medium or large as spent too much time in big clothes to cope with the over sized look. Can't see it dropping but never say never as they look to clear the decks for fresh stuff. If your not fussed on missing out maybe wait if you would be gutted to miss out I say go for it.

I feel sorry for him not having a ball playing keeper means he's constantly used as the passing out option. Schar is missed for the ping balls or driving midfield runs rather than playing out the back which led to some hairy comments at times where we came under pressure from their press. Hopefully a view to upgrade the keeper and possibly recruit a DM as an alternative to current system will help with the variety at least.

Some great link up play with Bruno it didnt all come off and thought he was a little light weight in duals needs to work on the physical aspect of the league. Was really pleased he was in the box for his goal far too often he would have been outside the box when the ball was played in. Hopefully that's intentional instruction he's taken on board. Wissa looking more and more like the lame duck of the 3 forwards.
-
I agree to a point split second decisions and nothing obvious in it. However he's the captain you don't have massive spats on the pitch telling bruno to fuck off and posturing just isn't a good look at all.
-
Sorry can't read this and watch my "tv" can anyone tell what system we were playing? From watching big nick and Ramsey were all over the place (in a good way). Bruno was excellent was such a good team performance obviously we all know the scale of the rebuild can't be done in one window but hopefully something to build on here.
-
You say sell like there will be a club willing to take them that doesnt mean crippling us financially. No doubt people would loan wissa but it's not going to bring any income to buy a replacement. We will get low balled for either of the other 2 as we paid over the odds for both (dont recall anyone bidding for elanga and bayern reportedly stopped well short of what we paid) Also based on this season Gordon is our hybrid forward playing left and centrally in this scenario Gordon would be gone so going for another who can play across the front 3 does make sense.
-
Unfortunately if there is a desire to bring a striker in and big nick or wissa can't go due to lack of interest or massive financial loss or simply dont want to go. He may have to be sacrificed as the one who generates a paper profit to help fix the summer flops. Getting a big fee for Gordon and going for a hybrid forward may be the alternative to that happening I guess.

If we lost both of the remaining fixtures by 3 or more goals like a collapse it may well still impact but I agree with the wider point a manager change/decision following a poor league campaign likely wont move the needle one way or another based on 2 games from the already aligned strategy/direction I assume was agreed when the met a few weeks ago. Still hoping they don't feel its all meaningless mind the usual professional pride/ wanting to end as strong as possible/ every league place worth 3/4m so financial incentive for the club should still mean the squad should care enough to want to win.

Probably Ruddy -retires Gillespie -released Trips- released Schar -released Krafth- released Lacelles loan ends now released Targett loan ends now released Willock -sale Gordon- sale Tino- sale

It's frustrating as when he joined he said all the right things the excitement to be here the want to be here. But then at the game you see him sitting chewing the gum looking like no shits given. The limited pitch time isn't exactly forcing the manager to select him. If we could afford to part ways I would do so in a heart beat issue is all 3 of our fowards are flawed and with the departing gordon we can't let them all go. Even if with a structure in place this summer it's a hard area of the pitch to get right as its an expensive position to fill.
-
Finally not giving him a yearly extension? Final farewell appearances?
-
Never is mate ironically that was my attempt of trying to be positive 🤣 Think your the first person to ask that question to me specifically this year so thanks for checking 👍
-
Good old Google says he's 29 this year surely ramos at psg is a better option?
-
Be better sellers ? Hes down to 2 years come the summer? 29 at the end of the calendar year? I mean all sensible reasons to let him go now we all need to be junior accountants. However too much change already, more goals taken out of the team, great pro who has at least publicly not kicked up a fuss being dropped, moved left and right and not starting every week. I like you would take a good fee for him but more so because its likely our last chance to get one?
-
Still hoping he means depending who we sell and for instance immediate 1st team replacement is 1x keeper 1 x RB - tino away 1 x midfielder - willock replacement 1 x striker- can't keep all 3 of the current lot surely 1 x LW- Gordon away We also need rotation CB for Thiaw if schar goes, rotation LWB for hall rotation RWB for trips maybe in Eddie's mind these players need to be brought in but can introduced more slowly with gentler bedding in time so don't form the immediate first 11 changes he's worried of introducing all at once. That or everything stays the same and we only sign replacement for who we sell which means pope for another year and BDB LB cover, strikers retained and willock extended....

A unlikely alternate option to the massive financial loss would be 15/20 goal contributions next season. Not sayings it's likely just wishful thinking 😕

We do have options they just are not effective as they should be. Osula/big nick/wissa all strikers of which wissa is an ex winger, big nick is a false 9 at best and osula is a maniac. Gordon/murphy/barnes have all had spells within games playing centrally (Albeit the last 2 not so much) which all 3 are really wingers. We managed nearly all last season with a broken wilson and the rat so we have do much more but feel like we have none due to how many weaknesses they all have in that role.
-
I dunno if you know the answer but does renewing a deal under the new rules spread the cost again over new remainder years or is amortisation dead with move away from PSR?
-
It depends if we want a change of direction or a like for like replacement seems like we can go for a specialist LW or a more hybrid play across the front 3. I think Howe likes flexible players who can cover multiple positions but dont want to discount any scouting and unearthing a pure LW.
-
We have conceded too many goals this season not to question the back 5 who on paper should be better than we have seen. We have 4 England internationals a German one and botman who without the injury would have likely been called up by now. The system, the tracking back the asking older players to push up and make recovery runs when it fails isn't helping either but it's how the manager likes to play.
-
I dont think we can/will get much for any of them and they werent purchased to turn a profit on (I assume). Older players for their experience/squad filler players who wont kick up a media or team fuss not getting as much starting time/ players you can call upon when needed and in theory get a "steady away performance". I see the logic is all of that the issue with letting players go for nothing is that they cant financially contribute to the churn in the squad and their replacement. We also dont appear to have anyone from the youth prospects to step up while they are in their twilight years (Alex Murphy is 22 in the summer and clearly not fancied at all). its more me thinking out loud to the question of well they didnt cost alot and are worth letting go from a fan prospective you cant argue most on that list have been worth the relative low fees but from a business standpoint its not a sustainable model to let a chunk of "assets" go for nothing having to fund their replacement 100%. I dont have any answer to this issue by the way it would be more palatable if we have some young academy prospect to take their place making it almost cost neutral but we dont (yet).
-
think your right even in jest low value in terms of their purchase price or time served at the club still have a cumulative cost. Trips 12m? BDB 12m? Lacelles 5m? Targett 15m? Schar 3.5m? Pope 10m? Krafth 4m? All low fees or been around so long that their cost loss probably means little to the accounts and have all contributed but all likely come the end of their time to go for nowt. We all know we need to be better sellers low value players are harder as they will cost more to replace than their worth but the impact is still real. Issue around pope I am sick of him as no1 too many mistakes but we already have much to do if he's willing to be a no2 it may be better than spreading the budget this summer to finding 2 keepers.

Separate to the result today do you think enough can be done to move the needle in our favour in one window? Baring in mind we arent just going to lose the shite from the squad the rebuild will need one or more of our better players to go to facilitate it. Happy for manager to try and rebuild but there are loads of work to do and a WC year means not alot of time to sort.
