Training ground sponsor when the long term goal to move is a harder sell and maybe adidas would have to be included in discussions for training kit sponsor if they have no desire to put more in the pot and do it themselves. I like you have no idea if it's too long or just right. It's been debated already but the city "fight back" may change policy and we don't want to locked in but it just seems to me like it's a missed opportunity and income we won't get back in the 3 years of not having it.
-
It was that long ago I read anything about it can you remember enough to paraphrase? Things taking time etc at a fan board meeting maybe a year ago is the last time I think I remember they had desire for a training kit sponsor?
-
Isak may play every game when fit but if we had someone fitter and more available I can see them getting minutes every fixture as Isak often tires after 60 mins and we should be aiming not to Flog him into injury. It's a hard balance though too much and your wasting the fee if Isak has no issues. Too little and the quality is so poor they only get on when the game is won and you dread them having to carry the team through an extended period. A hybrid player to mix up our formation and help Isak and plug gaps would be more ideal and something worth spending more of a limited budget on. Who that player is no clue though.
-
Fuck that willock and longstaff despite their low value first out the door Miley it's too early to say he won't make it if we can get some form of Europe year on year there will be plenty of games.
-
Can't decide if it's a wet window? Concrete? Wacky crocodile print?
-
I don't think we should freak out even if in mini window we sign no one. However playing devil's advocate if we had thrown out hats into 2 or 3 that have now seemingly signed for other teams where they the top targets? Where they the players Howe alluded to in need to act quickly on? If so could be seen as bad as you now working your way down the target list. Howe goes on about small pool of players albeit not this window specially so where does it leave us? Buying after those have spent may lead to less competition from teams who already spunked their loads but we know it doesn't work that way.
-
Knowing our luck the crazy fucks will not give up and offer even more money! Still think and froggy will know better than me players being released under the older bigger contracts and players who the manager know don't fit the system or he doesn't want to sell and replenish the coffers.
-
Not that you will know the answer to this but just to add to the mix about how that would work? It is a 50plus game season playing 2 up top doesn't give much rotation options unless Barnes or Gordon play as a 10 more centrally? Or we do keep Wilson for the mix.
-
I guess at this stage we lack the detail to know how good or bad it may be. The willock thing for 25m may be real and may soften a 60 or 70m outlay. A formation change possible? It may be the prime target was RW for 60 but if he's off to Manchester then the next one down may be at 30 or 40m meaning more money elsewhere. Right now knowing he's better than Wilson and current Osula is a good thing however knowing we could and nearly had him for 30m it's another prem proven premium we may regret when we have a fair few areas to cover.
-
Even Gordon it doesn't really fit unless we want to start playing with a no. 10 or if we tell Isak to float and him to stay up top. I guess if he's a backup to Isak or rotation option if he stays at a 1 in 3 striker it might not be so bad depending on fee. Better than old man Wilson no goals in 500ish mins.

What font you mean? I use an s24 ultra via Samsung own Internet browser so it is what it is as no idea how to change it. Sorry don't speak nerd 👍
-
Looks like he's been a striker/second striker/no. 10 from this so unless Eddie has plans to "change him" it's striker he's coming for.

Yeah to me 25/27 is peak age for most players obviously there are exceptions to that where some age done sooner due to injury or over playing and others go on forever. So you expect Murphy to continue his form into next season numbers wise? I wouldn't say this years trips at 34 is anywhere near trips of 2 seasons ago. Burn and schar have been great and particularly BDB has been better than ever. We have been lucky that neither have picked up any injiry which is more common in older players. Success on the pitch does drive revenues up but you can't hold onto all players forever a balance needs to be found where you accept some will never move as they contribution to the team continues but we can't function as a club keeping everyone. Knowing when to sell as is the balance you want them to either go before the decline starts or at peak value where your confident of replacing them for similar or less. Howe said similar post everton that the side is strlng but some players need to move to stop the side going stale and for competition in general. We have quite an old squad and yes I would like the club to find the next whoever it is than just go get the best performing player in a non top 6 side in our league. We don't just need the final piece to our puzzle we have quality issue in our depth and older players on short contracts. Never said I wouldn't take either player but if I told you the budget was 100 or 120m and most of it went one 2 players we need to balance the sure thing and the up and coming. Again this may still happen we have expanded the scouting network and had a year to 18 months to think on it if the best we can do is market rate for two in our league and that strengthens the starting 11 but not much else I would be slightly disappointed.
-
Both turn 26 and 25 respectively this year and so are coming into peak age territory. Do they have potential ceilings to improve under Howe like others of course they do. However we aren't paying low reported fees for them could end up being 100m outlay to get them both. I was looking forward to Mitchell getting us under 23s for sub 30m turning them into the next thing as our income is still so far behind we need to get used to selling selected players. I wouldn't turn my nose up at either by the way just worry it's eating into our budget and we back to being skint again.
-
We got no chance of jonathan david or is he confirmed as already going somewhere?
-
Do-able at that stage if longstaff or willock or both go and you reinvest in that area.
-
I don't know this but if we spent 80 to 100m and that's our "surplus" funds gone with no more without player trading would you be OK with that? I am not really sure a year of planning to get 2 in from the Premier league at a premium seems like lessons haven't been learned about splurging on players who are likely to not have any potential resale value. I shouldn't care as they will improve the side but would like more 30m or less we can use are good and can be sold if needs be down the line.

Aye big summer to potentially things jump forward at pace stadium, training ground new location, sponsor of training ground sponsor of training kit , new ceo, new technical director, Isak entering contract negotiations? Contract renewals for players and players to sell I hope some of this is road mapped out regardless of soon to be missing staff in key positions.
-
Contract extensions for Wilson, longstaff and new 5 year deal for willock imminent 🤣
-
Depends if who they want needs to go on gardening leave or not may be we roll with who we have and hope the role is recruited to align with these choices. Also agreed Eales going is and was well known but I for one didn't expect him to still be in post all those months later with no leaks as yet if anyone is waiting to step in. All feels like alot of upheaval at a bad time.
-
Interpretation of Howe's comments about speed may mean he knew it was coming and can't be an excuse to slow down our recruitment. Agreed it's a mess for the coming summer where big money to be spent and we don't have that strategic lead behind the scenes. Two big senior roles to replace now if Eales also due to go.
-
I still don't think the club know what Miley will "develop into" the fact Bruno, Tonali and big Joe are such a force it's great but we need to get to the point we can chop and change one or two from that 3 over a potentially very long season. Longstaff and willock being sold may let us get some more meaningful backup hopefully 🙏
-
We can't expect a 60 game season for him year after year hope the club look to see what we can do in the market to lighten the load

Feel like I have an issue with culture driven reasons only with a few well liked players. We have played champions league and have full internationals on the books while keeping high standards and togetherness is important as at times its what has made the difference that the lads have found a new level and dug deep. Having a good culture is definitely made that possible. However we can't become stale we can't become a retirement home players like schar and BDB are the wrong side of 30 but can assist us on the pitch as has been proven this season. We can't be fearful of rocking the apple cart in the team as we can't keep them here forever. He's 33 struggled to maintain fitness and now has forgotten where the back of the goal is. While he's better than nothing as I have said earlier if Isak got a bad injury and Wilson was leading the line our season would likely go badly as he can't be relied upon. We need competent pros who can do mins for tired legs but they still need to do well enough to carry the team should we need them to.
