  1. so publicly Howe is saying we want to keep everyone and that may be true for this window but unfortunately they going to have to get used to selling players even ones they still had "plans" for not always going to be the surplus to requirement lot, update appears quite grim to be honest.
  2. They either have been told summer is gonna be a big rebuild and are looking after themselves at first opportunity or we got some unhappy players. That or media bullshit

can see them spending the money now, Howe likes the versatile players so could we sign someone who plays up front across the front 3 and would be starter on the wing but backup up top which then provides flexibility to the front line while Isak/Wilson dip in and out of fitness.

least if this isnt a PIF club the fair market value shite doesnt have to apply if we got 30/35/40m for him assume other than gather press talk there is little the league at the minute could do.
  6. depends loads of thoughts in my head: strike while the irons hot on those getting general interest they know what they want to do and need to do it now to make it happen need to raise funds may be identify the 3/4/5 players we could let go and see who we can sell and then decide what to do depending on fee. general comments and FFP discussion given to media has alerted clubs we may be willing to let players leave and players being bid on aren't the ones we want to let go but are the ones we are getting offers on.

I want him gone as a guaranteed starter and want someone better either as strong competition or he is only used as a sub and he does what he does best in the games that suit him, if we are revamping that side with Trippier going/happy to replace I still think Miggy's form and purple patch are done to Howe but also how much he gels with Trippier. Would have loved to see Murphy gone, miggy stay as a squad player. However due to dreaded FFP if you were to have to sell to buy do you get rid of the class players or the good players on their day that also have a value (could have a different opinion if the fee is rubbish mind)
  8. Howe has repeatedly said we didnt insert a recall clause into his contract with the loan so recalling would be "difficult", didnt say impossible though.
  9. nope dont think they are "The country’s sovereign wealth fund (PIF) will actually take control of the four largest teams in the Saudi Pro League—Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, and Al Ahli—all at once and ahead of the 2023/24 season." wiki of Al Shabab says it was founded in 1947 why did my narrow mind think that some of these clubs just popped up out of thin air recently.
  10. So with these rumour to be believed with Trippier and now Wilson we are wanting to do a mini rebuild in less than 2 weeks of the window in the worse of the 2 windows to do it in. Either the whole lot is bull shit or we have deals lined up and just cash needed to do them.
  11. Contract ended at end of the season so assume we are just happy to free up the wage. At most you would assume nominal fee.
  12. It's not the sell to buy logic I find frustrating as ffp is here and we know these owners put it all back in no ashley style sell for x and buy someone for 10% of it. However the annoying this is you say goodbye to bruno or botman who have and do make a difference when you still have others you would rather escort out the door first. For me that includes longstaff and Co. However I know they aren't worth much or no one wants them for a fee just a loan which ultimately doesn't help the ffp issue.
  13. to be fair to him based on the break up of his marriage, having a "love child" etc etc I was very surprised to see him in the line up.

    Dan Burn

he seems to be spending alot of time coming inside and leaving the left wing unoccupied, I know he is a CB by trade but dont remember him doing this last season where is the drifting coming from? caliber of opposition? instruction? He also has come back slower than before the injury another great leader around the dressing room but shouldnt be displacing many in the starting line up if any at all once everyone is fit.

    Lewis Hall

It's a different role to Miley and we have had options in our lb area so been more competition for places but fuck me the lad getting next to no game time either we are very principled in our approach or we have wasted a fair chunk of the summer money.

    Joelinton

Think he said at least 6 weeks in the presser so already lowering expectations on return date which hopefully means they starting to learn their lesson on line between gamesmanship and unrealistic expectation setting.

Same thing I assume with Murphy one (player electing to come back early in the hope his shoulder doesnt pop out), with this player asked if he can continue and player says of course then they realise its a mistake asking to come off. In a live game got to listen to the player the most but yes that extra 10 mins may have been the difference from 2 weeks and 6.

It was a weird break in a weird place but took the gamble on it healing with no surgery and he has clearly had set backs due to muted dates been and gone and the quote from a journo to say he was back on grass. Not sure how much toe surgery would have kept him out but he's been missing since Sept? So not sure its just been a massive fuck up medically speaking. Edit: Just checked and it was early Nov they said he was back training on grass clearly hasn't gone to plan.
  19. We going to have to wheel and deal as 9 players currently out of contract so if they don't sign extensions we get more wage wiggle room but 28m gone on hall. Potentionally 3 ready for the first team desperately if we spend 40m a player that's 150m spent not sure if we will have that much. Budget may also depend who we can sell in terms of fees they bring in and if we are in Europe next season.
  20. Ffp restrictions Hope and praying injured players due back Most loan stuff happens towards the end of the window Lack of money sales/ movement making players surplus elsewhere Can see the reason why the delay or lack of movement just been spoilt the last few years so doing not alot feels like going backwards.
  21. Not sure what part you disagree with infact you yourself are saying he needs upgrading so isn't an automatic starter for that we agree. His goal and assist record wouldn't get him into top 6 sides. Yes he brings an element of dogged determination when things are going well you love and applaud. In games when we carve out one or two clear cut chances and it falls to miggy or longstaff your heart sinks as most of the time its not going in and in tight games it costs you. Do I want him sold? No not unless it makes ffp sense. Do I think he tries his hardest? Yes he certainly doesn't go missing. Do I think he's played too much football? Yes but we all know why. Doesn't mean I allow myself too get overly carried away based on a much improved performance yesterday. Think my original point was more fact I want a certain standard if he is in the side and some of the stuff yesterday is what I expect him to do. Next season he is a bench player for me.
  22. I agree to an extent and hope for a half season purple patch to follow but playing devil's advocate was it the calibre of opposition that made it look so easy normally you put your foot in to try and reclaim the ball and the opposition either doesn't keep it at their feet long enough and you draw a foul or the opposition players "acts" in such a way to get the foul. Miggy is vastly experienced international I want a certain standard every game so while credit where credit is due I expect some of it from him as standard now if the side have ambitions of progressing with him. One of the biggest plus is after the bollocking he got for taking the shot himself leaving Isak wide open and pissed he squared it for Isak instead. Hope that's the coaching team telling him we love your energy but it's a team game if you can give it to someone else to have a better chance at goal do it.
  23. Unfortunately Miggy gets alot of praise due to how bad he has been recently and it was a much improved performance. With Isak he is just class and you do sometimes take that for granted when looking at a match in isolation.
  24. I am sure we weren't playing full pelt and don't think we could having played a few days before and the controlled measured response was working. However if our bad luck have of continued Botman could have scored that own goal and Pritchards volley could have bounced down and in. The earlier misses by Longstaff could have then been costly. With every match you need a little luck as well as everything else. Saying that once the second went in I had little doubt.
  25. Think it's worth owning it rather than debating it Isak, and Bruno are probably worth more than the cost to buy Sunderland the football club. It's not our fault fees are crazy and we now have the means and ambition to shop in that bracket and as I said before it's certainly possible to beat us with an "inferior squad" so not sure they can have much complaints from the small bits I heard from Beale certainly didn't.
