Hughton and Calderwood 'will continue to take charge of first team'
relámpago blanco replied to jimmymag's topic in Football
I'm scared of Hughton taking charge, but I agree Calderwood wouldn't be any worse than Kinnear, we've got a good bunch of players compared to those around us, if Calderwood can't keep them up then he should never attempt to manage a side ever again. -
I've sent them an email asking them to wait until the end of the season or at least until we are safe, I doubt they'll listen but the more people that email them the more they'll realise that most don't want this.

They're suffering from the problem a lot of pressure groups face at the moment. In the heat of a crisis it seems a brilliant idea, but once the initial hysteria dies down most people are prepared to move on, where they just continue to look more and more desperate. I know, I've seen this happen before with political groups. When the shit hits the fan everyone is thinking "crap we've got to do something about this", then most realise there's sod all they can do other than support whoever is trying to fix the mess.

Nah, they won't get a word in over that bloke who thinks he's related to Jesus
-
Maybe we should send the results of this poll to them and they might realise that its only the minority that agree with them.

The man talks sense, I'm all for people being able to do whatever they want but when it starts to effect the performance of my beloved side, then they've gone too far, if you want Ashley out so much go and do it outside of the Sports Direct head offices but he can't sell it anyway so its pointless. You should have just given me the tenner and I would have ignored what you said.

They do listen to fans thats why they have public meetings to which everyone is invited. The last part of your post seems a bit far fetched. Well its not they are a bunch of twats. I know someone else who they offered one to and he said no and they said something like not a toon fan eh? You seem to be easily offended for someone calling a group of people a bunch of twats. I wasn't offended really, I just thought what the hell are they on about then became slightly angry, are you in NUSC?

Why would they talk to them when they plan protests against them. I'm starting to side more with Ashley and Llambias tbh, these bunch of jokers make us look like pricks, fi they did it in the right way (listening to what other fans sa) I'd support them and if a protest was needed I would join in. T hey are so far up there own arse its untrue, one of them tried to give me a flyer at a game and I said was aware of them but wasn't interested, then about 4 others came over and started giving me abuse calling me a mackem and said I wasn't fit to wear the shirt and that people like me shouldn't be allowed in to watch the matches. This is one of the reasons I hate the idiots so much, in retrospect I should have decked them all but was in a rush.

Come on Mike, get Sven in, if you do all is forgiven and I'll buy you a pint for a change, I know you're pretty skint now with the recession and all. -

nowt to say then ? Just joking man, I'm pretty bored, we all know spending money improves your chances of doing well, but it's not a given, you need the right manager, the right scouts and the right amount of money but you can do well without spending massive amount if you have the right manager e.g. Moyes and Everton. on the other hand, if you are lucky enough to get a decent manager, and it IS a lottery, and don't back him, he'll be off. Like Moyes, unless Everton are taken over or it all suddenly goes tits up for him. When you say "do well", how well do YOU want to do ? Top 7 pushing for Europe would do me. Regular appearances in the UEFA Cup would be great. -
I really think NUSC have screwed up big time, if they actually listened to people they may have become quite a powerful organisation, but because they just ignore whatever the majority say and a select few make these decisions they will never be big enough to have any impact other than affecting the teams performances and making us look like grade a discotwats.

Get back in your own thread NE5. -
It's a shame all you sensible people can't even decide whether protests are ineffectual or are to blame for everything wrong with the club. So you think its a good idea to protest about something that can't happen. The protests aren't ineffectual in the way NUSC do them, they help us to drop points. Like Neesy said, we may have won the Hull game if it wasn't for that and not buying club merchandise is retarded, you want Ashley to spend money on players, why would he do that when you won't spend money on the club to benefit the club. Even if everyone in the ground bought 1 pint everygame thats 200-300K in revenue, if you took that away over the course of the season it costs the club (not just Ashley as the club makes a loss every year anyway) you would cost the club 3.8-5.7M and thats just league games. If you want to affect Ashley go and get all NUSC members together and short sell massively on his businesses causing panic in the market leading to a massive reduction in share prices effectively making his assets other than NUFC worth sod all. You'd need alot of money to do this but I'm sure if you ove the club as much as you claim you could.

And he agreed to leave, but no-one wants to buy the club, he would have sold it if they did, whats the point in telling him to do something he can't possibly do. I forgot they were formed after that which is a fair point and yes they probably can't be blamed if we go down but it does impact on the players when they know the fans aren't happy so they'll feel under more pressure and make more mistakes. I completely agree with you, I've said loads of times that I dislike NUSC and their current protests are completely futile and at worst harmful. Just saying they didn't organise the protests that erupted immediately after KK walked. Yes, I accept that now. I wish I'd gone to that bloody meeting now, was this mentioned at the meeting? There's an MP3 of the whole thing somewhere in another thread. I listened to the whole thing, got the impression that very few people who held our point of view spoke up, and those that did (argue against protests) were 'listened to' then ignored and the protest was arranged anyway. The whole premise of NUSC is wrong, it fundamentally doesn't allow or enable any other viewpoint. Lets create our own group then, but the sensible people know that whatever you say or do makes little difference, so it would never take off.

I will next time, it just really annoys me, do they think this is the right time to launch a protest, it's not like the players won't find out about it. We need to support the team and ignore the ownership for the time being, I went a bit over the top before but I'm bloody angry when I back the team to the hilt irrespective of whats going on and then these come along and ruin other peoples efforts. Instead of having banners saying cockney mafia out etc why not have a banner supporting the players and instead of chanting Ashley out etc shout for the team. We used to have the best support in the land and now we are a joke fo a fanbase.

Yes I can, I can do whatever the hell I like, NUSC do.
