  1. That's what I reckon, I think we would have seen many more signings but Keegan wouldn't approve these and Ashley would only back Keegan if Wise said Keegan's targets were worth signing, then on the last day Ashley, Wise et al got sick and bought Xisco and loaned Nachoman. Which so called hidden gems did KK stop the club signing? As we signed: Jak Alnwick a England U16 goalkeeper, Aaron Spear the so called next Wayne Rooney & Nile was singed. Every player singed (not loaned) for the first team level had played in the Europe's best leagues last year & all were either internationals or U internationals, hardly unknowns plucked from South America or some shanty town in Africa.. I don't think KK would have any say on youth players tbh. I'm not sure if he did prevent us from sisgning someone, I just think it would make sense if he did. He certainly wasn't allowed to go for his own targets or we would have had at least one from the scottish leagues as Keegan kept on goin on about it. Know that for a fact do you? I know that Keegan said it about 15 times. Was that not the great English press thinking KK has lived in Scotland for a bit so he will want to sign jocks. You may be right, I'll see if there were any direct quotes from him later, I do think it's pretty safe to say though that Keegan was not allowed to sign all of his transfer targets, maybe Guthrie excepted.

Who knows who we would have signed had Keegan approved them. There was this fellow from Valencia available on loan by the name of Nacho Gonzalez.... Hmm? I explained that in the line above Wise et al probably got sick and just bought/loaned them anyway as Keegan had been rejecting alot of players. I don't know if this is true but it would explain the whole crazy saga as to why they were signed at the last minute and why Keegan walked as previously he had been able to reject players even if not neccesarily able to go for his own targets. Guthrie would be the only one I could feasibly see as a keegan signing

  6. I'd probably go 4-5-1/4-3-3 against Pompey away from home but JK won't, He'll probably play this. ------------------------Given Beye--------Colo------------Bassong----Jose Jonas------Geremi---------Cacapa------Duff -------------Owen-----------Martins(Sub 60 for viduka)
  7. Whats the craic anyway are we playing against the Toon Ultras or just an N-O match? Edit: Why the bloody hell has my avatar changed itself?
  8. I swear you get some form of smug enjoyment out of seeing us struggle yet I have no clue why. thats not it, i kind of hope if everyone becomes pessimistic, then the f***ing club may decide to do something about it. its like a vote of no confidence in this regime. Theres nowt they can do we said we wanted them out and he said he would go, if we start a 'Come back mike provided you spend money and sack Kinnear and appoint Keegan' protest we'll look more idiotic than we currently do.

  10. With thinking like that you should write for the mirror.
  11. It can be a very simple game. Good comparison there BT. I think if you have pace you leave it on the park as it keeps them guessing and also they don't push up as a side. For me also I think Jonas runs back too much. Bobby was the master of counter-attack like. That Everton 6-2 game, man. Dyer - JJ - Bernard - Lua Lua - Bellamy - even Cort i think was playing that game. f***ing lightning. Bobby would be able to conjure a quality counter-attacking outfit with the likes of Enrique, Zog, Barton, Jonas, Martins, Owen. To be honest creating a good counter attcking unit isn't that difficult if you have the players its basically; Defend Win Ball Give it to fast player Anyone with pace run like fuck towards their goal Pass forwards Shoot JK doesn't seem to grasp that though its more like; Defend Win Ball Hoof ball at short bloke Defend Win ball Hoof ball at short bloke
  12. So top secret we are now reading about them It's almost as covert as the CIA.
  13. It's got to be some Irish bloke who takes over, if not the Mackems may remember they play in England.
  14. Oh yes I forgot we were a massive 4 points behind, anyway I didn't meane xactly 10th it was an example, it's feasible. 11th is ceratinly attainable if we won 3 on the bounce, the leagues so close now. Also brilliant retort, it really shows an immense level of wit to which I've never experienced, I bet you can tell the difference between gravy and petrol with such intelligience.
  15. a home game against stoke is a good measure of our situation, the fact we couldnt win it . makes relegation more likely. Derby at home last season? Worst team in PL history and we didn't go down. You can't make assumptions based on that one fact. i am basing it on a number of factors. main ones being, the club is a shambles, players lack confidence, manager is clueless, squad is weak, inability to win,.... You're talking absolute s**** mate. yes we are in a bit of a mess but for gods sake if we'd had Barton and Butt together we would have won. We were great in the first half and had a crap second half due to the lack of cm's, this was made worse by kinnear by making some odd decisions but he could have done anything and it probably wouldn't have worked simply because he didn't have the players on the bench. Football is a strange game, today we are fighting relegation 3 games time we could be 10th 6 points clear of the drop zone. and you say im talking s***,.....heres the toilet roll, clean your mouth up. a home game against stoke is a good measure of our situation, the fact we couldnt win it . makes relegation more likely. Hows that shite? Are you saying Butt and Barton wouldn't do a better job than what we finished with on sat or are you saying we couldnt' be out of immediate danger in 3 games time if we won them all.

  17. Yes don't worry we get the same, I was just messing, we are all racist apparently. You're right about the atmosphere its never been the same since we increased the capacity and our dramtic fall from a title challening champions league side to battling relegation in 4/5 years probably hasn't helped. Only time I've felt really good about an atmosphere since those days was Shearers testimonial.
  18. Yeah, it's strange because alot of people complain about the kneejerk reactions of the media then say pretty much the same thing themselves. I remember seeing some journalist on the tv after we drew against Boro and said we were getting restless because Kinnear has had a terrible start to managing us and only recorded 2 wins and when Keegan left we were safely midtable. Do they know anything? When JK took over, Hughton had led us to some wonderful defeats which the journo indirectly accredited to JK. For christs sake we've lost what? Twice under him. At least we are solid now when we are away and we'll start winning at home, once players are fit and JK starts to understand the squad better so he doesn't make these ridiculous changes.
  19. You can slag the Stoke support because they attacked people and knifed a copper.
  20. Another problem for us it that Duff and Butt will probably walk straight back into the side after the result on Saturday despite the fact that we probably played our best 45 minutes of football this season in the first half without them. That pisses me off more than dropping the 2 points because I think we'll drop more over the rest of the season than we would have if we'd kept the same 11 and won this game. I hope I've got Kinnear worked out wrong. Zog has to stay in the side and I like Geremi and Guthrie together, but Geremi will never last 45 mins in cm. It's got to be Barton and Guthrie but then we miss Geremi's crossing, it's strange one, what we really need is a central midfielder who along the lines of Carrick who can dictate play to be alongside Barton. I'm not concerned that we are going down at the moment, despite us not winning for ages we are still outside the relegation zone and we have a far better squad than those who will go down.
  21. Yes but with alarming regularity we sit back and allow the other team to come at us. This has happended a number of times this season and we conceded goals. If we are playing well, passing, moving and creating chances why not continue that instead of holding what you have for 45 mins. Its asking for trouble. As for the midfield. We could have played Geremi, Zog and Jonas there then had Martins, Owen and Viduka as a front 3. Or had Martins and Viduka up front with Owen playing deeper to help the midfield 3 but also assisting the front two. My advice to Kinnear would be never take Martins off if he isnt injured. He is our threat/ outlet. I'm not defending Kinnear but Geremi's legs go after 45 mins. Yes he could have arranged it better etc but, he'll learn about his squad by doing this and hopefully in future he'll not make these decisions, I'm just saying if we play like we did in the 1st 45 we'll be fine this season, especially when Barton et al are back.
  22. I can't belive people's reaction's to a draw against Stoke after a 2-0 lead, yes we shouldn't have thrown it away but for christ's sake we ended the game with a no central midfielders. We were excellent in the 1st half just because we had a poor second half with a Blue Peter central midfield doesn't mean we are going down if we'd had Barton and butt we would have probably won.
  23. He must be bored alot, he's always opening his mouth about matters that don't concern him or Palace. I think most owners feel an obligation to not air their opinions on other clubs, this guy doesn't care, all he wants is to see his name in the papers. I thought he said a while back (pre-season ish) he'd taken Palace as far as he could and was looking to sell.
