bloody hell!
-
It gives us a nice activity to tide us over for 3 months?

Whose? A certain member of the non-playing staff Whose name is? Nacho Gonzalez?
-
Argh I've just bloody put it on as well. Hope they show it in the next hour like.
-
Probably pay them double what Alan Smith is on now?

To blatantly say that Shearer has no chance is very harsh in my opinon although he does raise some fair points. Many years ago a young Bobby Robson was relegated with Fulham. It's like asking how every great manager in football coped in their first ever 8 games? Way too early to judge him and he inherited a team where the damage was already done. You can't help someone who doesn't want to help themself.
-
Why would it matter if they are paying back the loan immediately or in installments. If they are buying the club they will know they are in debt - and would be a factor in their decision making. At least you'd hope so </Ashley>
-
We are still a relatively big club with a high profile across Europe because of what we've acheived in the last 15 years or so, just not as big as we once were. Hopefully we can restore our image in the years to come.
-
Just roll it up and make it into a sandwich. THAT's the revelation imo.
-
Ashley: To be quite honest, I don't know what all the fuss is about. I think we've all done a damn fine job myself.
-
I wouldn't. Wigan are a self professed selling club. With no fans. I reckon if Bruce leaves, they could be joining us in the Championship fairly sharpish. Looking at Sunderland getting a new owner and whatever funds they'll have I may just have to agree with you now. I meant more with the team Bruce has built but the mackems do seem to have more potential overall unfortunately.
-
In an ideal world, yes but it doesn't always pan out that way. Since it's only hypothetical and if we were being offered a £50m kitty and the timing worked out perfectly then I'd say yes without a doubt because in the long term I don't want Ashley here.
-
I'd be really surprised if Bruce left Wigan, they're much better off than the filth are.
-
Depends how long the takeover would be drawn out for. £50m is absolutely worthless if we can't spend it this summer isn't it.
-
Not right now, no. If Ashley's takeover is anything to go by then the timing would simply kill any hope we have of rebuilding and we desperately need to rebuild this summer more than any other. A takeover now would give everybody nothing but confusion and as much as I hate the fat bastard for what he's done to us, he's came out and apologised and we need to draw a line under what's happened and all pull in the same direction to clean up the mess.
-
Yeap. T'was a simpler time. Can't say he'll be missed tbh although he did put in a good 5 minutes that one time.
-
I'd agree with you but then I think of the Given fiasco. He should have went for 3 times the amount he did.
-
I'm guessing around 24, 25 million depending on if the people we think will be sold are.
-
I'd be willing to take a gamble on Beckford but would ideally prefer someone who is proven in this league ahead of others. I'd definately bring in Chopra if possible.

Also Southampton. Was disappointed to see them go down in 2005 as the season before they did have a promising team and finished in the top half, not to mention Le Tiss was one of my favourite players. It's a shame to see the financial problems they're having nowadays and can only hope they manage to sort it all out.

Shearer is untested in the transfer market as of now so there is potential to create a winning team. The only possible major stumbling block however will be whether or not he is backed and given the funds. I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of players Shearer would look for considering he was one of the world's best.

Faye's equaliser Bramble's equaliser Viduka's disallowed goal Ireland's equaliser A good potential 7 points there if we weren't so shite in the last 5 minutes. That could have seen us about 13th or 14th which would have been the average finish for us. Spilled milk though and all that.
