  1. Saying there's no offer will likely mean there is one. The fact that it leaked this morning means they're just trying to keep things professional and under wraps I think.
  2. I think Lewis might be a good makeshift in that kind of system until the January window at the very least. I can see him getting a lot more game time over the next couple of months because Ritchie at left back is an absolute disaster.
  3. With someone like Emery in charge of our squad I think it's fair to expect 6-9 points from our next 5 games. I'd be a lot more optimistic going into the Leicester game as well.
  4. Seen some people on Twitter criticizing Villarreal's league form but they've only lost 3 games out of 11 this season. If anything he'll make us a tough side to beat, which is what we need right now. Chuffed with this if it's confirmed before the weekend.
  5. Hopefully the new manager is in before the Brighton game. Looking at our next 5 games I think we could definitely win at least 3 of them provided we get the right man in before the weekend.
  6. Throw McClanger in there as well for the not so fantastic 4.
  7. I'd feel a lot more optimistic going forward if it was Fonseca rather than Favre or Howe, that's for sure.
  8. If he's here for the Palace game we'll get absolutely battered. Just get rid of him and let Jones take charge until we get the right manager in.

    Kevin Keegan

Amazing read, that. It actually made me feel a lot more optimistic about the club's future, which was much-needed. Thanks a lot for sharing, Paully

    Kevin Keegan

I always thought the likeness was a bit off. I suppose it could be worse though and we could have gotten the bloke who did the Southampton one
  11. He was heavily linked with them and those kinds of figures were touted around. It was said we were holding out for that much for him.
  12. As Keegan said back in 2010, Ashley knows absolutely nothing about football, and the people around him know even less. It seems that still rings true 11 years later which is obviously alarming. To be quite honest at this point I don't think he even gives a shit if we go down or not. The club is just being left to rot under the stewardship of his mates until it's sold. I believe he's all in on this takeover being pushed through but the new owners will be walking into a Moving/Money Pit scenario. We're a real fixer-upper I was expecting the "Not a town in Wales" banner. I'm unsure whether or not to be disappointed yet.
  13. Shaking with rage here listening to that moronic potato.
  14. Fulham will beat Brighton and then Bruce will be scrambling for his excuselopedia after we get tonked off Leeds.

    Jeff Hendrick

Would pay to send him back.
  16. In fairness to Roeder he is the only one out of that lot that actually managed to turn around results by "going back to basics" when he saved our season when he was interim manager. I wouldn't really put him in this list tbh. Him and Hughton are in the same bracket for me. Agreed. Personally I have nothing negative to say about Roeder. I saw him as a good honest bloke who always cared about the club and was able to get our team playing somewhat decent again. He should have at least been backed properly that season to help repair the damage Souness had done. Souness being backed with so much money while managing to make our squad paper thin was ultimately a sign of things to come during the Ashley era. Since Sir Bobby left the club, the wrong managers have always been backed while the managers the fans actually respected were never really given a fair shot in the market in comparison.

    Kevin Keegan

I didn't realise how far ahead the 2 Manchester clubs were at the end, reckon Keegan may have snuck 3rd though. Yeah I could definitely see that. We were only 5 points off 3rd, or 6 if you factor in our inferior goal difference. For all the great work Keegan did for this club it's such a shame that he never got to lead us out for a Champions League night at St. James'.

I wonder if he would've struggled with the team selection like Alan did. Sammi, Hatem or Squidward? Or Cisse on the wing. A true innovator...

    Kevin Keegan

Can't help but wonder what Keegan could have done with that 11/12 squad man. If that absolute wallop Pardew could get them to 5th, I think Keegan would have had them playing way above themselves. Would genuinely have him managing us again today if Ashley was gone.

    Joelinton

Or we could just stop putting him in the starting line up assuming we aren't going to be selling him any time soon. Can we not do both?
  21. Aye he could strike a ball but for sheer power I'd still say Robert. Robert certainly if you were combining power/accuracy. For sheer power, and accuracy for that matter I don't think there are many strikes out there that could top Martins against Spurs. Absolute rocket.

    Joelinton

We need to cut our losses and get rid. Has a couple of subpar touches on the ball per game and it's simply not enough. The likes of Ameobi got a lot of stick while working much harder for the team and looked like Shearer compared to Joelinton.
