But 5 years is a risk for a player who has missed 3 out of the alst 5 seasons with injury. It's less of a risk if it's a 2 or 3 year deal.
-
Over 5 years, at 50 grand a week, its a 15 million pound signing. No chance hes on £50k a week like... Liverpool offered him 50k a week, so if he's turned them down he'll hardly have come here for less. And he'll get a signing on fee.

Ashley is asset stripping to get the wage bill down. It's obvious. The plan is to unearth more Tiote's/Enrique's from abroad, but if they don't work out then we're in trouble.
-
Nolan's greed, Carroll's greed, Enrique's greed, Keegan's greed. In January it will be Ben Arfa or Tiote's greed no doubt. It's obvious the club want to get all the high earners off the books. We want to sell Nolan, Barton and Smith this summer to get their wage-bill down. If we can't then we'll let their contracts run down. Enrique the same because we don't want to lose him for nothing.

"If you can't beat them, join them"

Link? It's on his twitter. Did you actually take any notice of the account? It is definitely him. What? It is the real Shaun Custis. He is a bit of a clown but he is a Newcastle fan. I know who he f***ing is, and he isn't a joker who's going to make a twitter account like that.. He was the first to break the £35m done deal.

Shaun Custis saying it's a done deal.

Agree 100%. It's one of the many reasons why I hate AFC Wimbledon. Wimbledon was different as they had their club stolen from them by another town in another county and changed the name of the club, the badge and colours and everything. Get down to Gateshead. It's a good standard now, although I don't like the Athletics stadium. If they ever get that new ground, the club could take off.

That was NE5 if memory serves my god, cock right up freddy's arse, but boy was he ever right about mike. Freddy was on Talksport this morning saying he'd have done the same thing.

Does it? What's the source on that? I really hope it's not actually true, but the absolutely gutless last two away performances would arguably suggest that he had. So the instant a club starts losing games it's fair to suggest the manager has lost the dressing room and therefore needs replacing sharpish? Do me a favour. I note Stu has failed to criticise this decision one bit btw, despite being all over others having a go at Hughton and the players like a rash in previous weeks. Amidst rumours of Nolan going apeshit at him and Barton refusing to play? I hope i'm just putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5, like. It doesn't sound completely impossible, though. I'm not saying it justifies his sacking, either, btw. That's complete nonsense that. Nolan always gad a great relationship with Hughton.

I'm saddened by this but delighted at the same time. He deserves another chance at management and i'm glad to see him back as a manager. I hope Luton go up now.

Ashley has got the idea from Tottenham, being a Spurs man himself. If he puts the money in the team, can we really complain? The question is, will he?
-
He has put another £20m in and will want some of it back. Ashley is a Spurs man as well don't forget and will have known they're selling naming rights for their new stadium.
-
Now we can concentrate on the football. Chris Hughton has earnt it.
-
The only quote is from Nile Ranger "I realise what an amazing opportunity this club has given me. Im just so grateful for that." Steve Morgan has ears in the dressing room, so what he's been told will have come from the horses mouth mate.

They don't seem to be backing him on the pitch. The players are desperate for him to be given the job. He needs to be given the job properly because it's a disruption: PLAYERS BACK COLIN AND CHRIS By Steve Morgan NEWCASTLE’S senior players are demanding Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood be handed the reins at St James’ Park on a permanent basis. A group of the club’s leading stars including Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan have approached managing director Derek Llambias to make their views known. Hughton and Calderwood have impressed the Magpies’ playing staff with their calm approach. Despite a poorly organised pre-season that was overshadowed by talk of a takeover, the pair have guided Newcastle to the top of the Championship table. And their ability to get the best out of a squad that contains just 15 experienced players has got the players onside. Newcastle’s fans are still desperate to see their idol Alan Shearer brought back to take charge. But that move could be even further away now that the players have rediscovered the winning habit and shown their loyalty to Hughton and Calderwood. Calderwood, in particular, has become a massive asset this season with his knowledge of managing in the Championship, picked up during his time at Nottingham Forest. The Newcastle players now believe it would be pointless axing the pair. They feel Hughton and Calderwood have earned the right to remain in control and continue to guide the club back to the Premier League. Meanwhile, Toon striker Nile Ranger has used his ‘get out of jail’ card to build a promising football career. Ranger, 18, was jailed for his part in a street robbery in London three years ago. But he was given a three-and-a-half year contract by Alan Shearer while he was caretaker-boss. Ranger said: “I realise what an amazing opportunity this club has given me. I’m just so grateful for that.”

I don't blame Hughton or Calderwood they're just out of their depth. The rest need a good beating. Out of their depth? Ha ha priceless. The job Hughton has done this season has been remarkable under the circumstances. Two manager of the month awards and he's out of his depth! Maybe the curse of the award has been doubled as a result of those but he hasn't been offered the job for nothing. I believe Hughton is the man to get us out of this league and more importantly, so do the players, who want this sorted and until it is, it won't help results.. Rather him than the unproven Shearer, who got us here in the first place The last four games have disproved every comment you've just made. Out of his depth, tactically clueless, the player morale is in the gutter and the luck has run out. He should step aside, and soon. He's been offered the job apparently, so if he takes it, he needs our support. The players have backed him.
-
Wouldn't disagree with them.

You reckon we will be in say a month as well? We've shown we're a cut above most teams in the league. It's the Blackpool and Scunthorpe's away on a Tuesday night where we're struggling but this is a poor league and we'll win promotion. Once Chris is allowed to being a few in, in January we'll be alot harder to beat but assuming we do go up, we will have to spend good money, otherwise we'll struggle like Birmingham and Wolves.
-
You do realise we're joint top of the league? Moaning idiots.
