Nope he doesn't. But Macca supposed source was said to have left NUFC in the later part of the seventies for a Top Division Club with which he is still involved. Alan Kennedy writes columns on the official Liverpool website so that was the first name that came to my mind. Sounds plausible, and no denial from Macca so you could be right But it still doesn't explain how Alan Kennedy would know what is going on at NUFC. He used to play for Liverpool so he may be getting his info off Terry Mac who he used to play with. As I said, it's only a qualified guess. He was the first that came to mind, don't know which other players went to Top Division clubs that are still involved with them. Long before my time. If its Kennedy he'd have heard it off Terry Mac.

    Shola Ameobi

Why are our fans so fickle? Everyone was slagging him off last week.

Barton's a liability. Smith, Nolan and Butt is more than enough quality in the middle for this league. Honestly, I don't agree - I think with Guthrie back + maybe 1 more, we have BETTER quality. Having enough to me means 1 or 2 crocks or red cards and we are stuck putting LuaLua and Geremi in the center and will be overrun. We lack depth all across the pitch minus GK to be honest. Its blatantaly obvious that if a takeover happens, we need to bring in 2 strikers (Loven & Beckford would do perfectly well), 1 or 2 midfielders (A CM & Winger would do for me) and with Campbell coming in that would shore up the CB needs. All IF we get the takeover... Guthrie, Barton, Smith and Nolan leaves us with an embarrassment of riches in the middle of the park. For all people have slagged them off, the 4 of them are far too good for this league. I agree we need strenghening in other areas. Ameobi may hit 25-30 goals if he stays fit but he's always liable to get injured and then we're very short up front. If this takeover is sorted this week and we can get Beckford in and someone else on loan from the Prem, then that would be more than sufficient.
  6. Aye, f*** it: why even bother turning up? To get back in the winning habbit for next season.

  8. We should expect to be winning home games comfortably in this league this season. Reading was the benchmark. 3-0 again for me.

Aye to be fair he didnt do all that great last season. Neither did Hughton though, this leagues piss easy, I bet even I could get a team out of this league. This league is easy but next season in the Prem Shearer has alot to learn if we go back up.

By no means my first choice but I would accept Shearer if it means we get a takeover sorted.

Hang the F*ck on here. No doubt this is pointed out later in the thread but where did you learn to count? Jesus are you capable of anything? Wikipedia. Its not obvious to count everytime you see something there because you expect it to be right.

Shearer was trying to sort out the mess that this idiot (and others) created. The place was mess when Kinnear took over as well. I don't want him either but if Ashley appoints him then you can see why he would. You can't see why he would. Anyone with any knowledge of football (or even sense) wouldn't go near the fucker. As a cheap option and someone (who he'll perceive) as being able to get the fans on side. Don't forget Kinnear tried to instill a siege mentality at this football club that Ashley will want back. I remember everyone on here raving about JFK after THAT rant in the press. Funny how people's opinions change on here. he would have been fine for a couple of weeks as a stop gap. Aye, some press members need to be told they are c***s but not in that fashion to the national press. he has also deluded himself that he had a canny record and has been telling everyone that will listen. Hisd record was piss poor. I agree he's a muppet but I wonder whether the fans will get behind him or not if he's appointed. More apathy than angry but the former is more dangerous. There was more discontent towards Allardyce than to Kinnear at the game. And I don't think fans will be quick to get on his case after what he's been through.

  15. I've got him down for around double figures this season with the extra games. He's a real threat in the air and will cause problems for every team.

Was the West Brom win a case of the players saying "Do it for Joe" or a case of "thank god the fat man is out of here, let's play some football today". If JFK is appointed then the answer to that question will in my opinion, determine what end of the table we'll be at this season.

I'm just playing devils advocate with the Kinnear issue. I don't want him either but see it from Ashley's perspective of why we're probably going to end up with him. Ashley doesn't appoint manager's on logic. He appointed Keegan because he sat with the fans who probably told him to, Kinnear for a siege mentality to get the fans back onside and then Shearer as the fans choice to get the fans back on side. None of them worked and we're relegated but he won't learn. It'll probably be Kinnear, then Keegan and then maybe Shearer again.

  20. They tend to get pretty good info tbh, given that David Craig is lodged firmly up Derek Llambias' arse. They don't really need good info tbh. I'm sure most of us knew this was bulshit from the start, and whichever names are bandied about it will come back to good old Joe in the end. If it was bullshit from the start, why would anyone word it 'no longer in contention'? Wouldn't 'never been approached' be more suitable? It's similar to bidding £4m for Stephen Mbia in the January transfer window, then buying Kevin Nolan instead. Benefit of hindsight. Nolan was quality at Bolton and Mbia is unproven. We made the wrong deal but it never seemed like that at the time. I know you're a WUM but Nolan was poor in his last couple of seasons at Bolton. He went stale at Bolton after Allardyce left.

Mike has lost alot of money but to say a small section of the crowd are against him is laughable to be honest. I wouldn't be totally against Kinnear coming back, from a football perspective i'd be glad to have him back but its the constant embarrassing interviews that annoy me. His record here was okay when you compare it to Shearer's: Played 23 won 5 drew 10 lost 11 If he's the cheap option then you can see why Ashley would want him, even if we don't.

  24. All I can say is the club best have someone good lined up
  25. Oh, I dunno! His laziness and unwillingness to track back was quite legendary This tripe gets on my wick. The same sh1t that was thrown at Robert too - Duff tracks back, so does Alan Smith Neither excites the fans or creates much on the pitch Give me Ginola - YES, a legend - and Robert not "tracking back" but threatening up the other end of the pitch any time. Every player does this - if they don't, the national press say they do anyway. I can't remember him doing anything of the sort by the way. But it's the usual thing when a player leaves us or the makems for the rags to attack the team fans and area, and say the player said it. Players aren't too bright. They'll nod like a trained monkey and grin and say what the rags want to hear. Exactly.
