Completely agree. Ashley wants x amount for NUFC, nobody will offer close to that for a Championship team. Ashley would never sell at a loss to himself and he would make a loss on us in the Championship as nobody would offer him near enough. Basically, he'd just sit it out however long it took and wait till you got promoted back. Deep pockets.

Mind you, you're not going down any way, Hull are.

Honestly, I can't believe anyone thinks relegation will help. It's the worst thing that could happen to you. Pretending otherwise is cutting your nose off to spite your face. You need to stay up and fight Ashley from there. Although, you're in a difficult situation now. having had the press throw the "they hate him partly because he's not from the Geordie Nation" shit at you for ages, now Ashley has lumbered you with Carver - a goon destined to achieve nothing with you, except he's very much a Geordie, so regardless of what happens he's now got you with the "then they gave them a Geordie, and they wanted him out TOO!" line. Ashley is a devious fucker. He really is. But getting relegated will hurt you more than it does him. He can cover the profits drop by just cracking down harder on the slaves at his logistics centre. What a total cunt.

Farewell, then, QPR. They must surely be the worst run club in the league. All those "last payday, couldn't give a shit mercenaries" they waste so much money on.

He has extraordinary self confidence, that much is for sure. I don't really like that in managers, to be honest, but you have to say, he backs it up with results. It'll be a different thing backing it up over a longer period, of course. Also, he gets the piss taken out of his win rate, with it being 50% or whatever it was at Spurs, but since he has been here, we've won 8 of 14 matches in all competitions, which is in excess of 50%. Having observed the facewarpingly shit side we were earlier this season, that's remarkable. In the last three years we have broken every single club record for shitness - most defeats in a season, second most defeats in a season (in our entire history), 11 hours without a goal, 13 goals in half a season, fewest passes, lowest average possession, all that stuff. We were going to do a Derby County style relegation, not just get relegated. The last four or five matches we've played some of the best football I've seen from us in absolutely ages. Smart, fast passing, midfielders bombing forward, getting into scoring positions. Listening to the Guardian podcast this week, they were referring to us against Everton where we "exchanged about 50 passes and just kept the ball for a few minutes". Under Lambert we'd manage 50 passes over about 5 matches. Thus far, this is the most wrong I've ever been about anything in football. The second thing I've been most wrong about is taking the "too late to change manager" line, which I usually tend towards. With us, I seriously reckon it is mostly about confidence. This manager has given us it, the last one sapped it. You need to make the right appointment in the summer. Do so, and I genuinely think you'd improve masssively. You look to me very, very much like you're mentally and physically weighed down by exactly the same sort of doom-from-above that we were. Which of course is what makes it all so frustrating for fans in the first place.
-
I'm sure you said something similar about Sherwood I said Sherwood was a terrible appointment, yes. I thought he was. I just think stuff like long balls for Carroll to knock down to Nolan, all that obstructing the goalkeeper at set pieces, all the horrible cynical gamesmanship and then having to see his grotesque fat yamyam face as he chews gum and does his interviews after the match would drive me nuts.
-
I'd stop watching football full stop if we ever appointed Allardyce. He's an absolute embarassment. There's no way he'd cruise from job to job, loved by the media, if he wasn't English.
-
That's a terrible one for them to lose. Terrible.
-
Three points from the inaugural Cameron Derby. I thought Sherwood was a fucking nuts appointment, but I just can not get over the change he has brought. It is only a short period of time, but I can't remember seeing such a turnaround elsewhere, for a long time.
-
The problem Hull have is that they don't manage to show character and desire for long enough. Sunderland showed a bit recently, but are very short of quality. I saw most of their match today and thought they were luckly. I think QPR are gone already, really, and it'll be Sunderland or Hull. I'll go for Hull on the basis they're in a relegation place now and only have two difficult fixtures to drag themselves out of it.

Please, God, no. Please, please, please no.
-
I genuinely feel sorry for you. There are so many different aspects of that article that hint at the club being dreadfully run, it is untrue.
-
I lived for a year in Heaton (Sackville Road, Heatonites) and had no idea whatsoever there was a club there called Villa. I am, quite frankly, fuming. EDIT woooooaaaah! Hang on. There isn't, is there? I'm now FUCKING FUMING there isn't one.
-
Anyone else see that, and spot the superfluous space before the "!!!" (in itself an offence to the English language) and find themselves shaking their head?
-
The thing he said about Williamson yesterday was beyond insane. Maybe he thinks he did do it deliberately, maybe he's right, but the absolute last thing he should do is accuse him of in in public. It looked to me like Carver was trying to - and I almost use the word "impress" - put on a good "show" for the watching fans and / or media, a half-witted "look at me, I'm not taking any shit" move that was only ever going to backfire. What possible impact does he think that will have on a bunch of players who have lost eight games in a row and are notably looking like they don't care too much? All that is going to do is make them care less and urinate all over any dressing room spirit there may be. It's as if someone at Newcastle is actually wanting the club to go down. Madness.
-
Really? QPR to me look to be the textbook definition of a club full of overpaid, last-pay-day couldn't give a fuck mercenaries. They're as good as relegated already.
-
I can't believe that's the same side I was watching afraid to try to score under Lambert. It's all very well saying Sherwood gets the best out of Benteke, the problem with Lambert was glaringly obvious, we never got the ball to him.
-
We were excellent today. Excellent. The transition between what we were under Lambert and what we are now - with the same players - is pretty remarkable to see. It shows Sherwood is doing a good job, but more than that, it shows what a poor job Lambert was doing.
-
It seems like it's not only your board who have minimal ambition. Our CEO this week: Oh, the dream of finishing seventh, eighth or ninth.
-
That all sounds horrifically undignified. And I did actually think for a moment you might be joking.
-
jesus mary, that's terrible. He clearly doesn't give one tenth of one single shit for the pride of one of his companies, looking at that. Lerner has been awful for us the last five years, but even at his absolute worst, he'd never, ever resort to something as tacky as that. No wonder you want him out.
-
I haven't been to SJP, so forgive me for sounding somewhat behind the times on this, but watching that documentary tonight, I was shocked at the amount of Sports Direct advertising at the ground. How long has it been that bad? It looks horrendous.
-
I hope the BBC twats were tutting and referring to that pitch invasion as a return to the dark days of the 80s.
-
Why isn't Lambert on the list? I know he has a thoroughly tarnished record, one which makes mediocrity something to aspire to, and would be a mindbogglingly stupid appointment, but, well, he's available, and .... *looks at the people running you* *raises eyebrow knowingly*

Howeay Bournmouth. Ha ha ha. Very good!
