  1. Eight league home wins in a row, 2 goals conceded, zero from open play.
  2. Don't let them get you down, Butcher. Football is nothing if it is not about holding petty, unsubstantiated, irrational grudges and dislikes of people and clubs. I am totally with you, except my list would be 5 times as long.
  3. I am amazed we are thinking of flogging him.
  4. It's difficult to make out very much at all on teams on the basis of two very differing games at the start of the season. You weren't as bad as you looked after we beat you at our place last year. We weren't as bad as we looked when shipping four at home to Leicester under Emery. Bad days happen, and you really need a decent sample of games to get a better idea. Except for Everton, who look utterly hopeless in a continuation of last season. They're uberfucked.
  5. 3 in the US, Walsall, Lazio, Valencia, so 6. We are already without Moreno and Ramsey, our left side, since before the end of last season, too. They're big players to miss.
  6. Fucking hell, what is this injuries shit?
  7. Everton are just like we were for about 5 years, godawful and scraping around waiting for the inevitable to happen.
  8. You can take the boy out of the Villa, but you cant etc etc etc
  9. Douglas Luiz says hi. He has also, until recently, been spending much of his time boning Alisha Lehmann.
  10. The Paqueta dodginess was in a match against us that ended in a draw. The only fair result is that we are awarded a win. Which means we finished a place higher, and thus will be in the Europa League. Has anyone got a phone number for Brighton? I need to break the bad news.
  11. Good to see Olise telling Chelsea to stick it up their arses, for a change.
  12. That must have been tough, living through WW2 in Japan under all that intense US bombing.
  13. Gerrard picked that entire fight with Mings just to be sure he was the biggest personality at the club. What a dick head.
  14. Sevilla playing really well, tbf.
  15. Nice assist from the Lucas Digne replacement.
  16. It's not that, it's the changing dynamic and language around it. Putting out through Romano, the fact he "respects West Ham". I dunno, I just don't like it. I also do not like this new thing of players agreeing packages with a new club before fees are agreed. Whatever happened to good old tapping up?
  17. "Harry respects West Ham" Oh, that's nice of him. The power players have these days, fucking nuts.
  18. Don't really know. Torres is a left footed CB so you'd think he'd be the man. I think that would accelerate a LB signing, hence the Acuña links today I suspect.
  19. Surely other potential buyers will look at that Maguire demand and think twice.
  20. It takes more than just having the best players to make a league the best in the world. When was the last time the best 3 players in the world all played in the Premier League, for example? Never? People love our league because they see the tradition, the excitement, the passion of it and they want a bit of it. It's also handily in the English language. Nobody is ever going to give much of a shit about the result of Al-Jankovic vs Al-Jarreau.
  21. Zero. Imagine playing a high line with him in it. FWIW I think we will probably perservere with Torres, Konsa, Carlos and Chambers. Maybe even Feeney from the kids. Unless a great, financially sensible opportunity comes along.
  22. Nah, we need to. Several times last season we had TWO keepers on the bench, and didn't fill all the places, we were so short. We've only signed 3 players this summer, too. Right back, left back are where we need more. I genuinely would have kept Ashley Young. He might be 38 but he kept Matty Cash out of the team for chunks of last season. And back up keeper to replace lettuce-hands Olsen.
  23. I still feel the same. Our problem was that Mings shepherds the defence in playing that brilliantly, whilst having the pace to make it work. After we lost him, the rest of the defence shat the bed. Torres came on in really bad circumstances, having played left back most of pre-season. It was a poor day at the office, but it's one game, there's no need for anyone (on our side) to over-react based on that. I am way more concerned that we have lost Buendia (prob our best player pre-season) and Mings in less than a week, both to really bad injuries. We're fucking unlucky like that. Diego Carlos snapped his achilles in the second game of last season and was out for almost the entirety of the season, and now this.
