Floated set penis to Williamson/Taylor at back post
LoveItIfWeBeatU replied to Dave's topic in Football
We may as well take a corner in the same way Barcelona and Spain do (i.e. never cross it into the box, instead we pass it straight back to midfield). -
I couldn't find the thread about the quality of the refereeing in the Premiership so I'll post this here. How long has it been acceptable for opposition players to goad the home fans after they've scored? I'm sure it used to be classed as an incitement offence but refs seem fine with it now. Reading's goalscorer celebrated right in front of the Gallowgate corner both times yesterday. Anichebe did it the other week too. I could maybe understand if our fans had been having a go at them before they scored but we weren't.

Thanks for that. Do you think it means the cancellation request can't be done via email and must be in the form of a letter? I definitely did mine via email. They told me to at the box office. I suppose as long as I send it in good time and chase them for confirmation (if required) an email should be OK.

Mike Ashley likes a gamble. He's gambling with NUFC's Premier League status again. He's either going to gamble on a new manager, gamble by buying new players in the hope that saves us or gamble on Pardew keeping us up with more or less the same squad as we've got now.
-
He should only ever be used as a 20 minute substitute. He should never play from the start. His goal record is piss poor for a striker. He shouldn't even be called a striker. He's a good penalty taker but he offers very little threat as a striker. It's a joke that he is our second choice striker. We need to bring in two quality strikers to push Shola down to 4th choice.

If you are on the 10 year (or 9 year) scheme I think you have to write to the box office before the 31st of January. As I have barely enjoyed a single game this season (even the games we've won have usually been painful viewing) I was thinking of jacking my season ticket in. A few weeks ago I decided to base my decision on whether to keep my season ticket or not on January signings and the Reading and Aston Villa results. Today's defeat is a nail in the coffin.

Today he looked to be one of our most creative players (which is a disgraceful situation). We constantly played the ball back to him and it was up to him to decide what to do with it to move us forward.
-
If the players like Pardew and are working hard for him (as Jonas and Ben Arfa have said this week) then I wouldn't want to see their efforts if they didn't like him!
-
I've been a supporter of Pardew, wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt due to our injuries we've had but that died today. If we can't beat Reading with the majority of our first choice team then we can't beat anyone. NUFC's record this season stinks. We haven't played well for a full 90 minutes in a single game all season. Even the games we have won like against Wigan and Bordeaux we did just enough to win without ever really turning on the style. He obviously can't inspire the players. He's been well and truly shafted by Mike Ashley not spending the required money but surely another manager could have got more out of the players we've had available? When we played Man U and Arsenal he's sent the team out to attack probably because he thought we'd lose anyway. When we play the lesser teams he sets us up to nick a goal and to then try to hold on to it. Fortune favours the brave!

Who wouldn't?

Hate to piss on everyone's parade but surely after the Remy debacle people should hold off getting excited until a deal is confirmed as done and the guy is photographed wearing the shirt.

I would say just about every player is a mercenary these days. A player from France won't have any attachment to an English club. I don't blame Rémy for going to QPR. My problem is with QPR. How a club with a 19K seater stadium who are currently bottom of the Premiership can pay a player a reported £70K to £85K a week is beyond me. Those are the sort of wages only a Champions League team should be paying for top players. I doubt Everton, Spurs, Newcastle or teams of that stature will be paying any of their players £70K+ a week. It's not as if Rémy will be the only QPR player on mega wages. There's also talk of Rémy being able to leave on a free if QPR get relegated. That is an insane clause (similar to the one Ba had at West Ham?). I really don't understand how Tony Fernandes can splash so much cash. Relatively speaking he's not that wealth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Fernandes His Caterham F1 team probably costs a minimum of £30m a year to run. Money gets divided in F1 based on how many points a team scores. The Caterham team are yet to score a single point so he's received no money there. They are also sponsored by his own Air Asia airline so there's no money there either. That's before the cost of buying the F1 team and QPR is taken into account. Add in all the players and their contracts at QPR, I don't know how he does it.

Us sending them down second last game of the season Us being safe and QPR being relegated long before we play them in our second last game of the season

We could do with some genuine goal scorers. Cisse is the only regular goal scorer in the team and even he hasn't been doing that this season. Shola is an irregular goal scorer who can't be relied upon for a goal. Ben Arfa and Cabaye are probably our next best bet for a goal after Cisse and they don't tend to score that many a season. Someone who can take a decent free kick/set piece would also be good. We know we are no threat from set pieces and our free kicks rarely lead to a goal. Hopefully Remy will hit the ground running and score plenty of goals. We need some height too. On average, we must have one of the shortest teams in the Premiership. Height is not a problem for Barcelona but it is for us. I'd like a decent winger. Maybe Remy will play that role. When Ben Arfa plays he gets man marked by two players. That wouldn't be such a problem if the other wing provided a threat. It goes without saying we need at least one centre back and another striker (not including Remy).

When Norwich had that break where they were 3 versus 2 you could see Perch busting a gut to get back. Anita was jogging back like he'd assumed it was a forgone conclusion that Norwich would score. Perch saved the day.
-
He really struggled today, mainly because he was trying to win headers in the middle of the park against players who are much taller than him. The average height of our team must be one of the lowest in the league. That being the case, we have to play the ball on the ground as we are unlikely to win the ball in the air.

Man City are out of Europe so you'd think they would have players they can afford to loan out.
-
I hope NUFC aren't stupid enough to turn down loan deals if we can't buy who we want. For example, it has been rumoured that Man U are willing to loan Danny Welbeck out. Fergie's rant against Pardew may torpedo that though. Any decent clubs with centre backs to loan out could do worse than to send them our way. Their players would almost certainly be getting Premier League game time with us.
-
If he wants to go he can buy his way out of the contract he signed last season. 3 and a half years contract left to run at a rumoured £3m a year equals £10.5m.

Ba scored goals in our team when we were creating very few chances. He's bound to score plenty of times at Chelsea with all the creativity that they've got. People who think Newcastle could have done anything to keep Ba need to realise Ba viewed us as a stepping stone to greater things. We were never going to keep Ba no matter how much money we offered him. I'm sure he'd happily leave Chelsea if Real Madrid or Barcelona ever came calling for him.
