    Loïc Remy

It's all well and good saying you want to do business quickly but the trouble is the selling club have to want to do business quickly too. It's usually in their interest to drag things out (unless they need money quickly) hoping for a bidding war. We obviously had the Debuchy deal agreed with his club before the Transfer window opened. As for Remy and/or Aubameyang, we really need two strikers anyway (although it's highly unlikely we'd get two). Apart from Ba, Lovenkrands and Best left and weren't replaced. Xisco is leaving in the Summer (and doesn't really count as he never plays). Ranger isn't wanted and Shola isn't really worthy of the title 'striker' based on his goal return. Having Cisse and Shola as our only Strikers is arguably as bad as us only having 3 Centre Backs.
  2. What are the chances of Lambert getting sacked? We really don't want Aston Villa getting a 'new manager bounce'.
  3. I know it's 'Talkshite' but if it turns out to be true we'd need to buy a replacement left back or right back. If Simpson left we'd have Santon who can cover Left Back or Right Back, Debuchy (Right Back) and then we'd be down to Perch (who picked up a knee injury on Saturday) or Ryan Taylor (out until March at the earliest). http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/130107/fulham-and-qpr-rival-west-ham-newcastle-defenders-signature-
  4. We'll see Jonas and Tiote playing poorly and wonder why Pardew keeps playing them. Only when they can't play (through injury or the ACN) has he come out and said they have been struggling. I suppose he's trying to show those players that he has faith in them. Unfortunately for Pardew, while he's showing faith to out of form players the fans think he can't see that those players are out of form. It's also true that because the squad lacks quality depth it's hard to drop good players who aren't performing when their replacements are youngsters with very little game experience.

Unfortunately he plays certain players (e.g. Jonas, Tiote) hoping that they will play themselves in to form which hasn't been happening.
  7. I'm probably very late to the party but I've just read Ba's quotes on NUFC.com Thanks for the goals Ba but I can't exactly say I wish you well.
  8. I think all the refs got together over Summer and agreed that they'd give Newcastle fuck all this season.
  9. I agree with that. Everyone stepped up apart from Tavernier who played their striker on. Tavernier should be out on loan.
  10. He should be the 4th choice centre back at best. With NUFC only having 3 centre backs and with Steven Taylor always picking up long term injuries Williamson ends up being the 2nd or even 1st choice centre back. If we can't buy one, surely we can loan another centre back even if it's just as cover until the Summer? We can't go on with only 3 centre backs every season.
  11. Cisse has a 'knock' so there wasn't much to pick from today strikers wise. If we don't play Shola the choice is Ranger, Xisco (if he's not injured) or Campbell. It's pitiful squad depth. Another reason why we need to buy 2 strikers this transfer window. Shola should be the 4th choice striker and not 2nd choice striker.
  12. Pathetic performance. It is a indisputable fact that outside of our first choice 11 we have very little quality. Tavernier, Abeid, Sammy Ameobi, Ferguson, Amalfitano, Campbell , Ranger, etc. all need to go out on loan (assuming someone will take them). Unfortunately with all our injuries and pathetic squad depth we still need them at the moment. Currently we only have Cisse who we can count as a goal scorer. Shola is a very irregular goal scorer. He can't be relied upon to score goals. I wonder if any manager could pick a winning team from the squad we have available at the moment?
  13. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20905628 West Ham think he's a better bet than their current collection of strikers? Based on that I'm very glad we got Cisse and not Modibo Maïga then!

  15. Xisco. His only goal was a fluke on his debut and we lost the game anyway. £50K a week for 4 years for a player who doesn't get a game and cost us a £5.7m fee. Luque runs him close for being a total waste of money.
  16. Aye, that' ll put off Chelsea and Arsenal like. Nearly as much as PSG. It makes him a less attractive option not being able to play him in every game.
  17. If Demba Ba is still a Newcastle player on Saturday I'd play him in the FA Cup. That would make him cup tied which would make it harder for him to leave.

  19. I wonder if he has spent any time learning how to speak English? It would be useful and would show that he thought he'd eventually get the move he wanted.
  20. All the power is with Ba. If Ba is still here in the Summer, NUFC/Pardew said they'd try to get him to sign a new contract or move him on. The only way they could guarantee being able to move him on is by releasing him on a free. He may just play out the year and a half of his contract and then leave on a free. That way he gets his signing on fee from the next club he goes to. He can also ask for more money as the new club won't have had to pay a signing fee for him.
  21. Douglas has never sounded like he's that keen on joining us. He's the one who said something along the lines of "Newcastle are one of the clubs interested in me. There are bigger clubs than Newcastle interested in me". Recently I've read he wants to leave on a free in the Summer and likes the idea of playing in Germany.
  22. Is there a more uplifting name than Jazz Richards?
  23. Danny Graham? http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/Swansea-City-boss-Michael-Laudrup-gives-Iago/story-17710453-detail/story.html
  24. NUFC got Ba for free (excluding signing on fees and agent fees). It sounds like NUFC will get £5m from the activated £7.5m release clause (a clause Ba's people insisted on before he would sign for us). You can't blame Ba for wanting to go to Chelsea for more money and more success. All players are mercenaries these days. I stopped believing in players having loyalty to NUFC when Carroll left. We get French players because Premiership clubs can usually play higher wages than most Ligue 1 clubs can. Fingers crossed Carr has scouted players up to the job of replacing Ba. Hopefully the wheels are already well in motion at the board room level. Unfortunately most of the players we have bought from abroad have needed quite a while to get up to speed with the Premiership. We need the Ba replacement to hit the ground running.
  25. Ben Arfa tends to be 'based' on the wing but doesn't stay there rigidly. During the game he's rarely on the wing, he cuts in and roams about. I'm just saying when he is 'based' behind the striker/s he hasn't been as affective as when he is 'based' on the wing. Marveaux has been more effective when he is 'based' in the middle behind the strikers. He may be OK on the wing now he seems to have found form and fitness but in his previously wing appearances he hasn't impressed me.
