I don’t think Howe has anything to be concerned about. IIRC he was the one Al-Rumayyan wanted but the others opted for Emery.

I cannot work out if this is positive or not. On one hand I expected it one day, albeit not this soon. And as others have said, it is likely they’ve been unable to match PIF and the Reuben’s investment and been forced into this move. However, I did expect them to stay on at the club in some capacity. Amanda posting on Instagram 11 weeks ago that she was staying only for this to happen does make me feel that this is not her decision and not been expected. The fact we appointed a top class Sporting Director less than a week ago does give me confidence that the ambition is there still. EDIT - I do wonder if this is possibly to streamline decision making and give Eales and Mitchell more of a say.

Absolutely agree with you. The club have given some of ours access behind the scenes at women’s games and friendlies but they just use it to swan around with their media passes on thinking they’re the dogs bollocks.

I was admittedly getting caught up in the reports about us going for players based in the PL and paying a fortunate for them. Seemed to be unimaginative and weird considering the importance of being clever with finances due to PSR.

Aye I have watched a few videos of Everton’s ground and it’s new and shiny and that, but I know fine well that when the novelty wears off they will miss Woodison. For all the poor views and wooden seats there, it is a proper football ground and holds memories. If we do have to leave SJP (I hope we don’t) then it needs to be rebuilt on the current site imo. I don’t think it’s realistic to move it to Leazes Park. The arena site would be decent too I suppose, but like you I love that Cathedral on the hill feeling where you can see SJP for miles around. One thing I want in a new ground is a massive, single tier terraced stand.

Feel very calm knowing we have Mitchell now. Felt like last summer, as good as the players we signed were, didn’t really address some of our problem positions.

Pickford is class imo but seeing a lot of praise for him after last night, which I am not saying he doesn’t deserve for his England performances. However, last night he didn’t really do anything top class. He nearly got done off a corner as well.
