Need more info. on this before I choose a side. Any medal will result in exemption for the Korean players? Same true for Japan? Any medal results in exemption (from two years national service) for Korean players. Japan has no national service.

There was no selling club to deal with for the Cabaye(release clause), Ba(release clause), and Marveaux(free) deals though. It was just a matter of personal terms. It might be that targetting "bigger" targets this summer is actually pushing back the pace of our business.

Ki Sung-Yeung is for sale with QPR as front runners. Price quoted was something like 6m I think. I've always thought he's class but he's taken things to a new level with the Olympics. We should absolutely be in for him. Him, Tiote, and Cabaye in a three-man midfield would be absurd. (Although possibly a bit redundant given that Cabaye would probably have ball-handling duties.)

It's in the press that he now wants to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool. Looks like we've ended our interest and he just doesn't want to go anywhere else.
