  1. Fuck, I think that just might be the classiest thing I've ever witnessed from a footballer. With the obvious exception of every Sunderland match, of course.

Wish him nothing but the best in the future.

Cuellar cost 7.8m? Well, at least O'Neil is getting him for free this time.
  4. Like the Turks, our first names are our surnames, our last names are our given names. So in reality, we all have double-barreled given names.
  5. South Korea squad (on the off chance that anyone cares) FW: Park Chu-Young(Arsenal), Ji Dong-Won(Sunderland), Kim Hyun-Seong(FC Seoul) MF: Ki Sung-Yeung(Celtic), Koo Ja-Cheol(Augsburg), Kim Bo-Kyung(Sereso Osaka), Nam Tae-Hee(Lekhwiya), Park Jong-Woo (Pusan), Han Gook-Young(Shonan Vellmare), Paek Seong-Dong (Jubilo Iwata) DF: Kim Chang-Soo(Pusan), Yoon Seok-Yeong(Cheonnam), Kim Yeong-Kwon(Omiya Ardija), Chang Hyeon-Soo(FC Tokyo), Hwang Seok-Ho(Sanfrecce Hiroshima), Oh Jae-Seok(Kangwon FC) GK: Jung Seong-Ryong(Suwon), Lee Beom-Young(Pusan)

Nobody cares about that man. His agent calls it the APL as well for some reason
  7. Really not having fun with this Euros. No truly dramatic matches, no great stories, pretty much the best four teams in the quarters, and a final that's about 99% likely to finish 1-0 with Spain winning again despite being massively unimpressive. 2008 was so much better.
  8. It's completely baffling to me how people can hate their own national team with such a passion. I'd root for Lee Cattermole if he was in a Korea shirt. Just different cultures I suppose.
  9. We should all know well enough at this point to trust the club's ability to negotiate transfer fees. If we're not willing to pay more than a certain amount, it's probably because it's not in the best interest of the club. They've earned some benefit of the doubt.
  10. Fixture list looks a lot harder now because we can't really be sure who aside from the two Manchester clubs (and probably Chelsea) will actually be good next season. Any of Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, or Everton could turn out to be really difficult games for us.
  11. Pards will be here for the next two decades anyway so he's got plenty of time.
  12. First month of the season has the potential to be quite depressing.
  13. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story/_/id/1105271/john-duerden-on-south-korea%27s-latest-star-kim-bo-kyoung?cc=4716 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Bo-Kyung Kim Bo-Kyoung, 22-year-old midfielder (left wing or central) currently playing in the J-League. Scored 7 in 12 from midfield this season. Great work rate, intelligence, cracker of a left foot and scores quite a few as well. The local press call him "Jisung Park with goals" Has quietly become the best Korean player right now while our stars have retired(JS Park) been injured(CY Lee) or gone insane(CY Park.) Surprised that there don't seem to be a queue of European clubs in for him. We should be.

Given that 2010-2011 was arguably his best season as a Man United player? Probably not.

Defected after phone-gate. Just been on business trips for the past couple of weeks or so. I generally don't really post on here that much over the summer. Talking about transfer rumors makes me pull my hair out. As for Sunderland, they're basically nothing in the Korean market despite their efforts because a. they're a shit club and b. Ji's reputation over here is roughly equivalent to, for example, Danny Welbeck's in England. He's a pretty good young player but not yet a big-ticket shirt-seller. Signing Jisung Park would obviously change things completely but as I've stated numerous times, he's said that he'll retire when he's no longer good enough for Manchester United. Maybe he'll make an exception for Sunderland since they're basically Man United reserves anyway, but I doubt it.
  16. I do kind of feel like this year was our last realistic chance at lucking into a CL place. I'm sure we'll be in the top eight next year, but top four could start looking impossible for the forseeable future again.
  17. We're never going to finish above Chelsea again, are we?
  18. Ugh, I can barely stand this thread already. Imagine what I'd have to deal with if he comes to Man United and actually plays well.
  19. Turkish press says that Trabzonspor has made official contact with Bolton concerning buying Lee. Korean press seems to think otherwise. I've got no idea of course.
  20. Where were you for 2009~2011 where he was Bolton's best players and one of the most productive wide men in the entire league?

  22. Park Ji-Sung confirms interest from Galatasaray. It's a shame that his career is going downhill, but maybe we'll get to see teams other than Man United (Sunderland? ) on tv now.
  23. That still means a team who would ordinarily qualify would miss out though. That's true. I'm probably able to say these things because I'm not a fan from one of the country's that would be affected. Think it would make both cups better if the Europa League winners were in it though.
  24. Why not just reserve a CL spot for the winners every year? Seems the simplest way around it. Personally think they should have the Europa League winners in there as well.
